Alright, I singled my At2k with 6" of brass..

It's been working fine up to ONLY 3 pumps(Yes I have plugged it)
When I used my trigger at 4+ pumps, it didn't pull it back enough to fire, or it just pulled and let some air out, and got stuck.

I reopened the thing, and hotglued the trigger to the pin that it pulls to make it fire.

Same thing happened.

Now, I had it to where I would fire at 4+ it would hiss all air out, but the pin would get stuck. I literally had to hammer it back down into closed position.

Is there something wrong with the tank/firing mechanism, or can the at2k not take more than 3 ?

Just make sure the globs of hot glue aren't causing the pin to get stuck on anything inside the casing. Remember, the bic pen mod works better, the hot glue is the lazy man's method. I admit, I'm a lazy man, and had the same problem.

Yes, they are inplace. Same thing happens when I have the internals, and I just pull it with my hand.

Bic pen mod? Could you explain, or possibly link me?

If you have the trigger on the pin, there will be (left to right) a orange washer, a spring and the trigger. If its not in that exact order it won't work right.

I had it in the exact order. The AT2k I originally modded broke( it was my first mod ).
I remodded another at2k, and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the help.

I never really understood how the bic pen mod helped make pulling the trigger easier...

In stock guns, there is a spring on the firing pin that you must compress by pulling the trigger back until it reaches the back of the pin where the orange round thing is, so when you put the pen segment on the pin it's much harder than a spring, so it will go back and push the orange round thing back faster because it goes back without having to be compressed like a spring.

Is there something wrong with the tank/firing mechanism, or can the at2k not take more than three?

It could be that the pieces inside the tank are jumbled up. My younger brother's at2k's firing pin is jammed out because the piece inside the tank will not allow it to go completely forward. Thus all the air is let out as you pump.If so...

Solution: saw tank in half and reaarange the pieces and then seal tank back together. I haven't done this though and doubt it would work.

Yeah, I know this topic is way old but I had to say this. I sawed my tank in half and with some hot glue I sealed it back together. I thought it would be impossible but it sealed quickly and extremely easy. Also for some unknown reason It has two times the power. So just open it up fix the pieces and seal it back up.

Con: the tank won't fit inside the case of the at2k.

Well as long as we're bringing this topic back up again, Peter, you should be using more than 6" of brass. Try 12" and then cut back until you get a maximum range.

Hot glue? Are you shitting me? Use something stronger for the actual tank. Like epoxy.

Take Air's advice. Seeing as I'm the one who gave it to Air. Yeah, you didn't believe me until you saw the thing in the parking lot, didn't you.

I have them. They both have the plug pumped. I pump them 4 times. Nothing is messed up with the trigger. They only difference performance wise, is, the green one gets about the same ranges as a NF EX-3.

It work fine for me. I added a little and it was as good as new.

Hey Guys, Didn't Falcon Say Something About The "new" Green/Blue 2k Packs, and that they Have this problem After three pumps? I think that this is exactaly his problem.

I have them. They both have the plug pumped. I pump them 4 times. Nothing is messed up with the trigger. They only difference performance wise, is, the green one gets about the same ranges as a NF EX-3.

I was Talking 'bout this:

The new edition Airtech 2k's are different, and not just because of their paintjob.  The valves in the old 2k's (before the green color scheme came out) had a white dome-shaped piece with a black rubber o-ring behind it that closed off the air output, and made the valve a valve.  On the new ones, there is a larger rubber disc going out from the white dome piece that not only plugs the output hole, but also goes about halfway to the outside edge of the valve's interior.

This would seem like a blessing of a better seal, but when the pump is plugged, pumping over three times causes this seal and large piece of rubber to become a nightmare.  It takes an incredible amount of force (relative to the force previously needed) to pull the valve pin, and the trigger is unable to exert this force.  In other words, if you pump it more than three times, you'll have to open up the gun and manually pull the pin by hand.

This is not completely proven, and the pump number is an estimate taken from several guns, but this is pretty consistently happening.  All four 2k's from new-editon twin packs that a fellow clan member of mine picked up have this problem, and bic pen modding them didn't allow the trigger any extra pulling power.  I have discussed this with Baghead as well, and he has had the same problem.

Has anyone else had issues, and, if so, have you found any way to fix/remedy the problem?

I've had a similar problem with a few Standard edition 2ks as pico 10. the seal was being wack. not wigity-wack, just the normal kind.
