I think the only way you'd be able to do that is with streamlines.

They will go to the back of any barrel. THeir accuracy is a problem though. So, try plugging up the hole on the tip of the streamline with a little bit of hot glue, and maybe even stick a B.B. in the hole.

I think CS came up with this idea, but cut off the hollow tip of the streamline. It works great! ANd it hurts more.

That'll solve your accuracy and stock dart problems, but I don't know if you want to use taggers, suction tips or whatnot.

What I do is hammar a small peice (2") of 1/2" CPVC into a Peice of 1/2" PVC. You can make the peice of PVC longer depending on the air output of your gun. With my singled shotgun, I use 6" of PVC and my Taggers work as well as stefans.

I just got some sch. 80 pvc from ace. (Around 5 feet)

The fit is pretty loose. With Frost King foam, you can blow it back to the barrel, and with a loos efitting dart, it falls out of the barrel.

Anyway, what guns should you use it in? Air or spring?

I remember CXwq using it on his EAB, but usually you want a tight fit for springers.

I just got some ahlf-inch cpvc for my guns, and had some sch. 40 pvc from earlier. I also got a coupler, but the ID of the CPVC is too small for my air powered guns, though its the same as my original crayola barrel. I'm wondering if using some sort of lubricant will help the darts slide through better. I know cpvc is for springers, but the stuff I was using ended up being a hassle, and I wanted something that I could make a breach from.

Now if I can fix the problem of using CPVC, I still want to make a breech, using my left over sch 40. The ID is just smaller than the CPVC's OD, and I was wondering what to use to make it wide enough for a slightly tight, but not too tight fit.

I'm just wondering if Copper pipe makes a good barrel material? And how it compares to brass? Because I have a s**t load of it lying around (lazy plumbers, I got some pipe cutters out of what they left though).

I know, I know, it's been asked before, but! Before you shoot me down saying it all depends on your stefans; I have alot of different sizes of them (5 maybe) some are very hard to push into Alimunium, Stock barrels and Copper, others are too slim for anthing other than NF barrels. So asuming I have some stefans that will fit either pipe/tube which would be better? And why?

Thanks in advance.

Copper's softer, but it should work as a barrel material. Really, there are two things that determine the value and use of a barrel material: dart fit and friction. I assume that copper is comparable to other metals as far as friction goes, so all that remains is to see if it fits your darts.

My darts do fit the copper I was just kinda thinking about friction, because the copper defantly dosn't feel as smooth as alimminum (or brass, I should imagen..). I might try finding some brass and then doing the same length barrel replacment to two of the same gun. I've just got two Secret Shot's, I might try it on them.

Thanks agian.

Believe it or not, I have used the barrel from the longshot front gun. It fits 5/8 FBR perfectly.

I've used that also, it can also function to fire arrows if that's what interests you. I've found that it works better that PVC is too tight for my megas, butt this stuff works perfectly for some reason. The grooves don't seem to have a significant impact on range.

I've seen a mod (rawray7's crossbow mod) where they uses sch. 80 pvc and 9/16ths.

BUT, he says the 9/16ths can fit in the sch. 80 pvc perfectly, mine doesn't. Does anyone know where I could buy some sch. 80 PVC that fits 9/16ths brass?

Try another brand/hardware store...or, even the same hardware store where you got the stuff you have. PVC isn't all exactly the same.

For instance, I have some Sch. 40 PVC that I can't fit 19/32" brass in. And, I found a stick of beige CPVC that has a slightly larger inner diameter so that it isn't so tight on my darts.

Wish I could remember where I got that CPVC...

What size CPVC is best for nesting OMC's thick-walled PETG?

You are better off trying 1/2" PVC with e-tape/hot glue around the PETG.

EDIT: OCT 14 2008
I have bought (in the 3 months it took for someone to reply to this topic) 17/32 brass & CPVC, both of 'em work great! I don't use 9/16 brass because my darts fall through, and I prefer them not to slide around in the barrel. CPVC on the other hand is alot cheaper, easier to work with in greater quantities, and let's me choose a wider variety of length. Therefore, I now prefer CPVC over 17/32 brass (that might change for breeches).

Thanks for the info!

P.S. I've been cutting my brass with the plastic pipe cutters, although instead of pushing down on it and deforming the brass, I twist the brass until it falls off, leaving a pretty clean cut.

New barrel material? It's not GRAET but it's better than stock, and it's removable.

I was cleaning my closet, and a tagger managed to wedge it self into the bottom of a CDR spindle, so I broke it off, cleaned the end, opened up the top end and plugged it into the barrel of my disk shot pistol, and I haven't distance tested it, but it is travelling out of the barrel faster. I'm pretty sure we're not going to see huge improvements but for a cheap, quick solution for really cheap...

I finally found some brass, but I don't know what tool to cut it with, I'm guessing it's some type of saw because I used a plastic (i'm really smart aren't I) pipe cutter and deformed the brass. The only tools I have are:
1. Hot glue gun
2. Plastic Pipe cutter
3. Drill
4. Saw
5. Screwdriver(s)
6. Pliers (spelling?)

Oh, and my saw is not electronic in any way, it's a very small hacksaw that is about 4-5inches long.
Just asking if it's possible to cut the brass without having to spend money on a new saw (because It's my dad's money, and eletric saws could be expensive)?

P.S. I'm not sure what brass to buy, I bought 9/16 brass (because stupid people mixed up the brass, so where the label said, "17/32, I picked up a piece of 9/16," yet it still fits my stefans O.K., they still fall thorugh if you shake the brass hard enough though. So i'm asking if the next time I go to that hobby shop, should I buy 17/32 or stick with the 9/16?

EDIT:
Darn I forgot to ask, what is it best to nest brass in, i've seen it nested in PETG, yet my father doesn't like to pay for online stuff, and he does have a paypal account, yet he hasn't used it in sooo long he forgot is password. I tried fitting it in 1/2 SCH40 (stuff used for stock darts and nesting crayola barrels) and there is ALOT of space, not sure if CPVC is good though, because I've never bought it.

1. You need these to cut brass cleanly:

Posted Image

I got these at Ace for 15 bucks. Just go really slow.

2. Judging by your description of how your darts fit in brass, 9/16 will work for air guns. Your going to need a much tighter fit for spring guns, so for springers go with 17/32

3. Wrap e-tape around the brass so that it has a tight fit in 1/2" PVC. Do it in multiple places so the barrel remains straight.

Thanks!...it's just can you tell me the name of that tool? I haven't seen it at my local ACE, so maybe I could find it at other hardware stores...
Anyways, my previous post has been edited.

Go here. It's the Ace outlet store, has killer prices, and you can get brass there in large quantities. Those are the exact ones I have, and I bought them for 15 bucks at Ace. They're only 6 bucks there, wish I'd known that before!
