i have a brake line cutter/bender for brass and steel pipe,a dremel,and a scredriver. is there anything else i may need?

To name a few: Epoxy, hotglue, backer-rod and fishing weights. You also might need a saw, but your brass-cutter will probably do the trick.

Hacksaw, sandpaper, metal file. Those will help a bunch for getting PVC and CPVC straight. Plumber's Goop might help too, it's good for when you need to seal something up really strongly. Other than that, chris hit it on the spot.

Backer rod = foam you make stefans out of. If you don't know what those are, you need to post less and read more.

Sorry mods and Admins if this is a Double Post. I used my brother's computer and last time I did that something screwed up and I ended up double posting like 5 times. Anyway...

Backer rod or "Foam Backer Rod" (FBR)~ for the near furture.
It comes in 3 sizes;
3/8in- Nanos (Smallest)
1/2in- Regular Stefans- Use in 1/2 CPVC and 9/16in brass. Just to name a few, there are a lot more. (Medium sized)
5/8in- Megas- Used in 1/2in. Used in 1/2in PVC (Biggest)

X-acto knife. Great for cutting things that require precision. Get it at a hobby store for about $3 CAD.

Probably the nicest tool you can have is a dremel. Excellent for sanding out insides of barrels as It takes a very short time (espiccally when working with an airtech),

As SirTofu said, a dremel is probably the single most valueble tool that a nerf modder can have, but you'll want to make sure you're in Nerf for the long haul before you go out and buy them, because they're not all that cheap ($50+). Not only are they great for sanding down barrels and cases, but they'll do better than anything else I've seen for shaping PVC and (more recently with Boltsniper's designs). And they're great high-speed drills.

I don't know if you count this as a tool, but I use a vice all the time, for letting stuff dry and holding things that I need to drill/sand.

Something that I can't get enough of that hasn't been mentioned is Electrical Tape (also called Vinyl Tape or E-Tape). My main use for it is that wrapping pipe/tubing with it increases the outer diameter. I've also seen it used for added holding strengh and better grips for your guns. If nothing else, it makes things black (or whatever other color of E-Tape you'd like to buy).

Second that. I still don't have a Dremel or an airbrush, but those of you that saw my Crossbow up a little while back saw what I can do.

Ultimately, if you want to know what you'll need for a mod, look at the mods you're thinking of doing, create a list based on the mod, and buy the stuff it suggests. If it recommends a power tool, more likely than not you can use something mundane instead (Dremel = hobby knife and sandpaper, etc.). Half the time mundane is better anyway I think in my mind, because you end up having more control (most of the stuff I've seen where people use a Dremel looks like crap cause the rushed it, they even say so in their mods). Anyway, I wouldn't say there's a concrete "list," just check the mods you want to do and go from there; everything is common sense-type stuff.
