i'm new to nerf. But my guns are a little under 1 1/2 years old however. I just recently found out about this type of "nerfing".
My sout IX-3 is screwed. Right now it will shoot about 2 yds. But there is one dart that it will shoot 30ft(no joke). My hornet, well i have to pump it 35 times or it won't shoot all the darts and the blast button only shoots one dart. My faithfull night finder broke on me last night an will only shoot a few of the darts more than 10'. My RF 20 is as good as new. And my titain is all right. And my firefly is brand new! any help or tips would be much appriecieated.

This is my 1st post. tell me if i did any thing wrong. if i did i'm sorry
sorry about editing so much :nugget:

You rfirst post wasn't to bad. Well nothing we can't fix. Try and make sure you have all spelling and grammar right so we can understand more (I can understand it but just a tip). Try not to do any useless posting.Oh use the EDIT button don't double post. Uh the mods and others will tell you what to do for a nice time posting here.

Anyway well I'm not good at fixing guns unless I have the gun with me.... Sorry bout that one. But some internal pics might help.....

Have fun while posting,
Napoleon.

I assume you're using stock micros. Stock micros tend to get squished down some from constant use, or leaving them in the barrels of your blaster. Notice how the ends of your darts are crimped in? Dont leave ammo in your blasters otherwise they get squished in and lose the pop they need to get more range.

Hornet - Spray some silicon spray or caned air into the seals of the hornet. They're probably dirty.

Truth is, NERF blasters get worn down.

Thanks for the help. Yes i do use stock micros. And they are old darts and i do leave them in my nerf guns. so i guess it is a lesson lerned for me. guess it's time to buy new darts and some silicon.

This is a stupid mistake, but make sure you cock the Hornet's "reset slide" on the front of the gun BEFORE pumping it. I made this mistake with mine and didn't realize it until about six months after I had it. I know, I suck.

Good luck.

Well, as far as your IX-3 and your NiteFinder, you may have easily fixed problems, so if you open up the gun and look around, the solution might be obvious. You never know.

As far as your dart situation, you might want to look into Stefans. I use them because they allow you to build guns that don't muzzle load, and because they cost somewhere between 1 and 2 cents each to make. Check out this thread here.

Stick to stock darts for the scout. My scout will shoot a stock dart like 25 feet where a stefan wont even leave the barrell.

Thanks for the tips. I'll think i try stephans. I first thought that they would be more expensive but i was wrong. thanks for the help again ^_^

Up date:
I opend up my night finder and a spring was bent so i fixed it an it is a good as new!
My IX-3 how ever is not doing so well. One god forsaken screw will not come out . I sprayed it with WD-40. I hope it will work.
My hornet AS-6 is doing much better it will now fire all 6 darts with just 21 pumps. The blast fire is only firing 5 darts but thats good enough for me!
Thanks again for your help.

With my scout I did the first part of ompa's then instead of replacing the barrel i was lazy and stuck a piece of brass in the end of the barrel with e-tape around it. It improved the range. Until it broke... yet again.

Thank you!

I have also discovered that Buzz Bee stock darts go much farther in the scout than the N-stike darts. The darts are fatter and create a better seal. For some cheap darts buy a pack of darts from buzz bee and if your store doesnt sell them than pick up a buzz bee blowgun for like $2.00. It comes with 6 darts.

Yards? Meters? Feet? Please say.

The single quotation mark( this one ' ) means feet, the double one means inches. ( this one that is ").

I didn't see the "'". Thanks for pointing that out...but only 10 feet, and he is satisfied?

No I am not satisfied but it will at least shoot now. I don't think there is any thing I can do for it now. But I might try modifieing it just for the heck of it.

THERE! I fixed it.

My Hornet AS-6 broke again. It will now only fire 2 darts. I guess I realy need to get new darts and that spray. Where is the seal on a hornet and does it involve opening the gun if i where to spray it with that silicon stuff?
