I've been nerfing for under a year and have only tried one barrel type.
I've only used crayola barrels because they're pretty much free.
When modding my guns I never get the same results in ranges; is it because of this?

Thanks for any info.

If you go over to the top right hand corner after you posted, click the edit button, add your comments there. My dad has this nifty little tool fro cutting pipe. I don't know what its called but it has 2 blades and a tightning knob that you twist tight every few turns. It be just as good to use a hack saw or large dremel disk. As for barrels go, If you are useing something for testing or screwing around, use rolled up paper. It's easy to cut and can fit any dart. Other wise if you use stefans, use 9/16" brass.

Here's a very helpful article about which barrel is right for you and your gun. PETG isn't discussed, however. As for cutting brass, I would use a hacksaw.

You cant jsut stick some other peace of piping on a gun and expect the same ranges as someone else. Their are a lot of variables involved. Type of barrel, brand of material barrel is made from, stock ammo, stefans, type of stock ammo, brand of stefan foam etc etc etc.

I use

These to cut pipe, specificly copper, brass and some PVC. Makes a cleaner cut than hacksaw, but leaves a "ridge" that you can remove by scraping it off with pliars, or some hard metal object.

It's called a "pipe cutter"

If you are going to be cuttinga lot of PVC get a pair of these:

Some pipe cutters come with a triangular piece of metal on them made for scraping out that ridge. Mine has one, it's quite useful.
