The way i got my BBB it is extremely accurate, sure, not as great of sheer power as an AT2k, but headshots are nice at 40ft plus. Also, the new supermaxx 1500 is more powerful than an at2k with a single barrel. Course, that might be because i have a longer barrel on the 1500. How long should the AT2k be anyway

...losing is stupid, even if it does exist in Nerf. It's pointless to try to eat shit because it's cowardly and ineffective and just plain not fun.

Thats why you just run all over the place like a manic shooting people in the face with your xbow, insted of hiding under a bush, waiting for someone to come along for you to waste your shot by trying to S*N*I*P*E someone from 150 feet away with you AT2K. Its pointless to S*N*I*P*E.

I would try 12". Then cut it down 1/2" and test. Then keep cutting down and testing until your ranges go down. Stop right when your averaged ranges go down. Then write down that length on a peice of paper for future referances. Because air decelerates after awhile. It also acelerates before it decelerates. I hope that made sense.

Well losing may be useless and stupid in a war. In a city wide month long clan war however it is different. I would rather have 4 people with nerf warish guns and 1 person with a modded losing titan than have a team of 5 people with nerf warish guns.

If you're singling your 2k, consider a more loose fit, like brass or PETG, compared to CPVC. 8-10 inches will do nicely, just either blow the dart down the barrel or ramrod it down. If you're gunna turret, I'm using CPVC, but have yet to test it because I need to finish the paintjob. I think it'll work out nicely. I used 6" barrels on the turret because my darts fit really well in CPVC. I'll eventually post about it.

Fucking A, not another loser thing! I'm not even gonna start. Shinny did awesome work, so I am going to compliment that.

I like the BBB personally. I have bigger hands, so it works better for me. The 2ks are good, but I just think they're too damn small. I know, I know, I can mod that, but the whole concept of the BBB is so cool. Image is everything...for most cases. The first time I saw my friend's BBB, I decided Nerf was fucking awesome. It's the gun that started my Nerfing "career", so of course I'm going to be partial to it.

The best advice for choosing the gun: try it if you get the chance, and then go with what your favorite is. You should be nerfing to have fun, and it's a lot better with a gun you think is really cool. There is no best gun to buy. If it works for you, great. Invest in it. Who cares if it gets long range? The most fun I have when I make the game risky. Easy kills with long range are cool for a while, but when there's adrenaline pumping and you're screaming your ass off making threats; that's what real fun is. It's when you can do stuff you can't in life. Nobody can dodge bullets like they can a dart. If long shots are what you find cool, go for it.

I like plunger weapons, so i'd say go with the BBB. Just make sure to make sure she has a good seal and to lube the plunger tube a lot and it should work wonders. The mod took my 5 min. and it shoots about 80' flat. TEST- loser, yea it works

So is the girl the plunger tube and is the plunger the boy?

Use the term "Sharpshooter" instead.

How is Sharpshooter anybetter, don't they mean practically the same thing?

Also, I like the way the BBB cocks better (Is there a better term for this by the way?I hate saying cock). As in, how you pull it back. You jus cock it back and its ready to blow(I'm sorry, I couldn't resist). It makes things go faster by a little, and its cool.

Also, if you keep the sight on the BBB, it really is a Sn iper weapon. I don't recall the AT2K having a sight!

Edit- I almost missed it-69 Posts WOOT!!

Because the term "Sharpshooter" doesn't mean you have to be from a far like a 's_niper' but still be accurate. Or people could just say a 'NERF s_niper'. Note I said "NERF s_niper" not a 'real s_niper'.

Well ya I get it now. I didn't mean to sit on my butt and shoot people from a far. The most fun I have ever had in a nerf war was using two Mavericks unmodded. With their range I had to be about 15 feet away to make kills.

I just wanted to add some diversity to my aresenal.

Thanks for all the advice and thanks to the ones who didn't flame me. Yall are cool.

Alright, time for someone who knows what they're talking about to step in.

First off, I'm going to call bullshit on the guy that said you should put a 14" barrel on a crossbow. He has no idea what he's talking about. If you want to know how long to make your barrels, use more then you know you will need and keep cutting it down until it shoots well. That's the secret to the perfect barrel length.

Second off, I'm going to give some advice on what I think will be good. For one thing there is a reason the "role that shall not be named" is being censored. It's because it's bullshit. Anything other role you want to take is also bullshit because in Nerf, everyone is equal. You play the same role, a kid with a nerf gun! Now will you please just accept that and move on? There are no roles in a Nerf war.

Really it comes right down, unless you're using a high rate of fire gun like a powerclip or hornet, which both really are not that practical for use, you should be using a singal shot, long range, accurate gun. This does not make it special, it makes it a good gun. With that, if you are a good shot, you're not some special ranking nerfer, you're just a good shot. Stop making it out to be some big thing, because really you've nothing over what the rest of us have.

Now on the true issue at hand. Right now is an excellent time for Nerf. There are alot of good guns out. The 2ks are dead on solid weapons. I can't say anything bad about them, except for reliability. Every air gun has the option of perminently destroying itself at any moment. Don't believe me? Ask Hersh what happened to the Clusterfuck. 2k's are on the other hand very bad for beginners because they pose some advantage with power and rate of fire. This is a bad thing to use as a crutch and I've seen many times, new players who start out with these ubershooters end up being less then average nerfers.

The BBB is your best option. We're looking at a powerful and super accurate gun. The range is not great, the rate of fire is low, but man, is that thing right on. As a beginner to the game, this is your best option. Hell as a vet to your game, this is your best option. It's reliable, powerful and doesn't pose an advantage. There is nothing impressive about kicking ass with a 2k. In fact, you'll have people talking about your gun more then you're ability. However, if you do well with a BBB, you'll find that no one is talking about your gun at all, rather that you're a good player.

Lets remember here, that it doesn't matter what gun you use. If you suck, you suck and no gun is going to help you. I've seen guys with great shooting Crossbows that can't hit shit. I've seen groups of guys with 2k's and brassed super shooters out the ying yang get completely diddled by a bunch of guys with shitty guns. I've seen guys go undefeated using guns that have no barrel mods.

So what you're really looking for in a gun is something that will be your tool. When I play with my old school bow (no spring, barrel or band mods) I play exactly the same as when I use my brassed 2k. Sure it's easier with the 2k. I can squeeze off four shots quite a bit quicker and hit a little bit harder, but I also notice that I hit less per the number of shots I take. When I use my Crossbow, I hit more, but take less shots. Either way, anyone I play with will still tell you that I do the same thing, whether they find it to be effective or not.

So take it all in stride and understand that the only thing you really need is a good, reliable gun that you can play with. This would clearly put the BBB over the 2k, because a BBB won't spontaneously combust. After that, just play. If you don't play, then just go out and buy anything, because the only reason you're hear is to mod. Figure out what you want to do and tailor everything to that.

Have fun or just shut up,

Talio.

I wouldnt exactly call the BBB reliable. Yes springers are most defiantely more reliable than pump blasters, but the BBB has its problems. All 5 that have floated around between me and my friends ended up exploding in half at some point.

Understand, when I was saying AT2k > BBB, I was ONLY refering to range with nothing else considered.

I'm still waiting for them to release a large air volume springer again ( That isnt the BBB ).

I see the BBB blowing in half as a very rare thing. I wouldn't consider it a concern.

Losers.

Get a 3k twin-pack while they're still available. It has better range than the BBB and better ROF than the 2k. Pwn.

Talio, nerfing with an inferior weapon will probably make you get better faster. Or maybe it will make you get frustrated and not enjoy nerfing. Personally I'll equip the best gun I can get my hands on so I can Fuck Shit Up™.

Thanks for being objective Talio. I am totally new but I love nerfing and have fun none the less. So I will go for a bbb and I won’t post anymore stuff like this. I didn’t mean to start anything with anyone. I simply wanted to know what a reliable gun was.

I know what you mean by everyone is all the same. I will post the mods and paintjob I do on the bow.

Again thanks for being objective and not calling me stupid Talio.

I'm not really going to disagree with you because you're right. Personally, I use the best guns I have most of the time and even my old school bow shoots really damn well. I'm not saying to cripple yourself, I'm just saying that I've seen new guys show up with really really nice guns, do shitty still (because it doesn't matter what you use), get just as frustrated and stop coming. Mainly, I've seen new kids do better with single shot springers then anything else. Some of the better new guys I've seen use only pistols. So yes, I can't really disagree that you want to use the best gun out there, however, I can say that finding a more balanced gun with clear strengths and weaknesses make you a better player, which in the long run will mean you have more fun.

I think you made a fine choise choosing the BBB, Caleb, but also listen to these guys too. If you want to lightly mod your guns, go for the AT2K since it's go horrible range because it it huge air restrictor. The LBB is also a good one too and when barrel modded and stuff, gets insane range. Personally, I just take out the air restrictors in my guns so that I can shoot stefans (If I ever do make them...).
