I modded my crossbow about four months ago and last week the barrel broke off. I used epoxy to attach the coupler to the plunger tube. I was wondering if Gorilla glue would work in this case, because my dad just bought some to fix a broken leg on a chair. Has anyone ever tried it or should I try to find plumber's goop?

While epoxy is massively strong, things are still able to break. Both should work fine.

GOrilla Glue is really a wood glue,and an excellent one at that, not sure how it would work on plastics though.

I'd very much recommend getting your hands on some Plumbers Goop and doing it right. I'd do a "double-coupler" mod like Rawray7's ( Rawray7's mod ), because that way you can grap the coupler to remove the barrel on the outside fo the gun and not place much stress on the chamber itself. I'd also take a look at Ragornock's mod just to see another mod; you want to see as much information as possible before you do a mod on something like a Crossbow. Back on topic, I'd say use Plumber's Goop; it bonds to almost anything, is flexible, strong, and seals waterproof and airtight. The way I did mine was Goop, than hot glue for extra structural support, than two layers of duct tape after that, so the joining of the coupler assembly w/ the chamber is extremely strong; this step alone took me about two days at least. If you're going to do it right, it will take time and effort; you can't take the short route and expect it to turn out as well as others'.

That's exactly what I did do. I followed Rawray's write up as close as possible. I was just wondering if gorilla glue would work.

Goto the hardware store or walmart and look for dev con plastic welder. I glued my crossbow coupler on 4-5 times with epoxy and twice with goop and it still broke off everytime. After seeing how well the plastic welder worked when build my far I decided to give it a try. It's lasted longer than the epoxy or goop and still hasn't broke. I think it's the plastics used in the construction of nerf guns, i think they use a self lubrucating plastic and thus the epoxy doesn't stick. If you can't find plastic welder just look for a plastic specific epoxy.

Flamebo nailed it, DevCon plastic welder is the SHIT. It bonds great for nerf guns, and you can sand it or dremel it after if need be. Consider it like bondo AND epoxy in one, really good stuff. Also check Sears Hardware for it, my Home Depots never carry the stuff.

I had one incident where the epoxy holding my Coupler on the plunger tube eventually cracked and slid out of the coupler. To fix this, I got a threaded coupler: half of it's threaded, the other half is the plain taper. I used epoxy again and it works well, because it has something to grip onto; the threads, and the nozzle on the tip of the plunger tube. I haven't had any issues since. I suggest trying this, unless you use that weld stuff.

Crossbows have been discontinued for a very long time. The only way to get a hold of them is through ebay, or occasionally through other members via the Trading Forum. There are stories of people finding them for ridiculously low prices at garage sales or through friends.
