For those of you who don't check Digg or any of the other like sites, here's a fairly humorous article written about the Ipod Nano Screens.

Yes, I'm aware it's a joke.

Here are some of the more juicy comments:

"I don’t get why fat people need tiny ipod nanos. They’re designed for thin people anyway. Thin people who are not as lucky as fatty-fats who have much more real estate to hang gadgets on their extra-long belts. Fat people are lucky because they can carry around more tech.

Therefore, I conclude that thin people are the disabled ones."

"Honestly I don’t care if thats the reason the Ipods are getting scratched up. Fat people are the real problem here! And while I’m very happy to hear that they are taking a step in the right direction and buying apples, buying Apple’s Ipod nano isn’t going to help them lose weight, they need to buy real apples… and then eat them. Besides where are fat people going that they need a portable music player? Theres already a CD player in the car, and one on the computer, god knows they are not taking it to the gym."

Yes, I'm overweight, and I STILL find this funny.

Read the comment's, about half the people took it seriously.

People's comments

"I have to side with apple on this one. If you’re fat, that’s your problem. Nobody elses. So for GODS SAKE wear some baggy clothes at least. I mean, I’m no male modeling superstar, but I fit through doorways, and I don’t crush iPods when I sit on them"

"Eric, why should Apple replace every broken Nano when it’s their fault for being so fat? I agree that they should have a contract which needs to be signed and that the AOA is overeacting cos their all fat. "

"Ummm… iPods arn’t made for fat people anyways. Imagine the iPod commercials with dancing fat people. That’s a lot of broken iPod screen, that is if they don’t think it’s a Twinkie-O-The-Future… or maybe a Triscut? Either way the’re probally sync them only once. Fat people make me sick."

The last two paragraphs made me laugh out loud. Thanks ompa, for that nice laugh.

I really think, if I tell my friend about the altoids case, that he'll do it. He's skinnier than me though. Heh.

Wait. Hold on. If you're talking about space, then no, they're way underpriced compared to your 512 mb for $100+! Seriously, go out, spend $50 more on a Zen Extra, and get 30 GB! So what if it's kinda old, It works! I use MP3 cd's, only because I'm a cheap bastard. Once I get a job, one of my targets is a Zen Extra.

I don't need space at all , I A) Don't have that many songs(couple hundred right now) B ) Can just create playlists and rotate them out. It was also for $85 not 100

EDIT: Sorry about hijacking your thread

2EDIT: Tenesee- eh, to each his own right?

I'm sorry, but that is the most disgusting thing ever passed off as a mP3 player that I have laid eyes on.

About the nano's-They are really cool, but also too expensive. $50 more for 16gb more... I think a regular iPod is worth the grab. If I were to not be so cheap and buy an mP3 player, I think I'd get this iRiver you can mod the interface so it can play movies, and the FM/AM tuner is nice. Not to mention it's $275 on Amazon, $25 less then a 20gb iPod.

BTW: That was an awesome article ompa, thanks.

ompa, that was good. The comments made it that much more funny.

My player is one of the first ever iRivers. I got it back in the day when a 128MB player was $150. Boy, I've had good times listening to that thing. Personally, I'm quite attached and I have no intention on picking up an iPod. I can still store around 30-some songs, which is just enough for me. CDs are still in anyway.

So funny, they bash fat people so much. But on the subject of the nano, I seriously think someday this will be whats in store for on the go mp3 players. Before this gets out of hand all images below are photoshopped and not real.

While we're on the topic of iPods...

I have one, but only because I got it for free (long story short, my bro broke his, bought a new one, i sent old one in for warantee). I would never spend $250 just to be able to listen at any of thousands of songs at once. I actually find its most useful feature that it doubles as a portable Hard Drive.

If you want a Mp3 player, buy a Zen Micro. I've never used one, but from what I hear, it's an iPod for 50-100 dollar cheaper.

At the moment i have a creative zen touch which i am very happy with. It is slightly thicker an heavier than the ipod but when i searched the net for reviews the majority of pople were saying the zen had better sound quality, but the standard head phones sound a little better than a monkeys arse hole. Another good thing is that the battery lasts twice as long so i only charge it every few weeks. The price for me was over $50AU cheaper than an ipod and it is the same 20gb in size. Plus at big W it came free with the fm/am tuner and voice recorder, the zen touch also includes a carry pouch with a clip which i believe cost anywhere around $40AU for the ipod. and i like it. A strange fact is that no matter what the weather or temperature is like the zen is always cold......

I've been needing a better mp3 player for about 4 years, barely getting by on my old archos jukebox recorder 20, and so I bought a nano the same day they were released. It's very nice for me, since I hate electronics bulging in my pockets when they should be portable (kill me for not being overweight and/or wearing baggy clothing). The nano came out only a few days after my birthday, so I lumped some b-day money together, and do not regret the buy. I do have ~40gb of music, but it's not hard for me to choose what I want to carry with me.
