I found the exact same topic and read it, but I can comprehend the problem.
My RF20 piston won't launch the dart or rotate the barrel. If anyone has a remedy for this problem, please post it.

Do you hear it go bang every time you pull the trigger? If so, your turret is out of place, and therefore you don't have a good seal with the pison to the turret. Have you taken it apart? If so, you may have put it together incorrectly, though I can't see how.

Push the little white thing after you pump then pull the trigger.

There is no bang, it's really quiet. I don't think there is enough air pushing the piston. I never took it aprt either, it just started after I shot a few rounds, then it went dead. Also it seems that all the air leaks out when I pull the trigger. I think something is moving around inside the gun, but I still can't figure out the problem.

Well, if you've never taken it apart, now might be a good time...maybe the problem will be really obvious.

If you havent opened it up and messed with it then I have 3 simple Instructions:

1: take it and put it back in the box.

2: Find the receipt.

3. Return the peice of shit.

I bought a rapid fire that would only launch 10 darts when fully pumped. I followed the procedure and whammo! No more problem.

I recently won a lot of nerf guns off of Ebay and in this lot is an RF20. I'm wondering what things I should look out for when trying to mod it. I wanna drill out the air restrictors after I get it, but wanna make sure that I don't screw up and loose it. Will plugging the overpressure release valve help or hurt the gun too?

No, don't. Ompa told me this in a old thread of mine, don't plug the pumps on the RF20, PC or WF. Just leave it.

What I did instead of drilling the restrictors was open the turret, dump out the whole restrictors on the floor and cut each one's pole off with a pair of scissors. It was tedious and took more than five minutes but it works good. If you're going to do this, make sure you cut the peg off as close to the ring itself as you can, so it doesn't interfere with your darts.

Oh, right. About the problem...Make certain you put that piece with the two holes on top of it, the black one that seals the turret to where the air actually comes out, back on right. Make SURE you put it in with the two 'wings' to the left and right sides, so it locks in place sort of. That was my problem and it took me a while to figure out. Good luck!

I can't return it cause my parents threw away the box and the reciept. It seems that the bladder holds pressure, but when I pull the trigger, all the air leaks out through the piston. In rapid fire mode, it moves back and forth as it should, but there seems not to be enough air to push the piston all the way forward to move the turret. In slow rapid fire mode, all the air just goes out. Any suggestions?

Some places will return an item without receipt or box and give you store credit or exchange it for you. I would take the 3 minutes it takes and call them just to be sure. If they refuse you then go in and ask to speak to a manager.
(They are more likely to bend rules when dealing with a pissed off customer) If they still refuse you then write a letter to nerf and they will most likely give you a new rapid fire and shower you with nerf stuff to keep you happy.

I did the same thing to the Kinder egg company. I got a cartoonish cello that was supposed to have an arm but it didnt and I raised hell. I got the missing peice, the whole toy as well and 3 boxes of 3 pack kinder eggs with an apology note.
Seems kinda childish I know but it was just the principle of the whole thing.

I'm a little confused there. Are you saying that you shouldn't remove the air restrictors in the barrels of the RF20, but instead, just remove the poles that your stock darts slide over? NOTE: I do know that you want to remove the pegs if you were t use stefans.
