But for now give me a link or describe a mod for the Air Tech 2000, please?

Also, I don't get why newbies these days don't just make up their own mods. As CXWQ said once, other than removing the restrictors, adding new barrels, plugging pumps, and adding bands there are only a handful of gun-specific mods. Make your own up, don't be a forum n00b and ask for obvious stuff. My 2C.

Honestly, I think it has to do with fear of breaking then gun. The whole reason I got into Nerf was because I like to tinker with things, but for the most part newbies don't want to get it wrong. It makes sense to me, at least, that as you get more familiar with modding you don't need a write-up and then you start doing things on your own. Besides, breaking guns sucks and you are far more likely to to break something if you arn't really familiar with what you are doing. It's definately more satisfying to do it all on your own, but I have some busted guns, including my beloved ss2, that make me understand some people arn't willing to risk that. Also, I don't get why newbies these days don't just make up their own mods. Hahahaha. You're talking stock, no one's telling you not to mod it. There are at least ten mods I can think of right off the top of my head, including:you're right, I should just sit there and pump it 20 times because the pump won't work and shoot and have the dart not even leave the barrel, genious!
Single-barrel CPVC and coupler.
Single-barrel brass.
Single-barrel PVC and coupler.
Single-barrel Crayola/PVC.
Single-barrel paper rolled into a tube (no, I didn't make it up).
Double-barrel Crayola/PVC.
Quad-barrel Crayola/PVC.
NerfnoobC's clip mod.
Sanding down the restrictors and posts in the barrel.
Quad-barrel Crayola/PVC.
Quad-barrel brass.
Quad-barrel copper.
Quad-barrel CPVC.
Quad-barrel Crayola and Crayola/PVC.
Quad-barrel straight Crayola.
Quad-barrel PETG.
And anything else your sick little mind could possibly come up with.
I was wrong, I was able to come up with sixteen mods, and there are others out there.

Here's my shameless self-promoting but fairly basic AT2k modification that uses PETG as the barrel material, but for the most part, retained the stock internals (no pump mods at first), and yielded honest 45-50 foot ranges on 3 pumps.
I later plugged the pump overpressure release valve, and using only 2 pumps per shot, kept the same ranges, but increased firepower (time between shots reduced). I could also go 4 pumps to up the range some, but from there increases in wear and tear happen also.
Just Nerfed again last night with the family; first time in a couple weeks, to get the blasters out and shoot-em-up in the backyard. The 2k is still strong as can be.
Choose your mod! And have fun prying off that darned pump cap!

100% Nerf, for 100% pwnage.
Nerf is a neutral weapons dealer. Anyone coughing up the dough can get armed.

Falcon's site
Look for the 2k single-barrel mod. You mean on Pineapple's mod? I'm sure you could use something else but E-tape would definitely be the best.
If you're talking about the mod on Falc's site, you could probably use duct tape, but I would advise against hockey tape because it's not as strong as E-tape, I think. If it is then sure use it, but I prefer to use electrical for all my mods.

How does a double-barrel 2k get more range than a quad barrel? You still have the same air loss at the turret. When you double barrel the at2k it reduces the ranges a little bit from single barreling it,(you still have more than a qaud barrel) But now you have two shots instead of one.

Is Electrical -tape necessary? Also I plugged up the restricter, so mostly uncle hammers mod should go really far only because of the barrel right? Because I plugged up the restricter and get like 5 feet more, also Is electrical tape neccesary, or any tape. Also can those modded guns shoot regular darts? Or only stefans?
(Do I use to many commas and not enough periods? Also I used because to start a sentence! GaSp! Because. Because. Because. Because!)

I like using masking tape because it's thin, and a lot can be apllied if necessary.
When you exchange the barrels with PVC you can still shoot stock darts.

To answer quite frankly, the only reason I used electric tape is because I had it handy nearby. It's not as though it's a 'must have' for the modification to be successful. You could probably get away with using hockey tape, we don't have much hockey here in Hawaii so I have little knowledge of hockey tapes' characteristics, adhesion, etc. I like e-tape because I can remove it (for repair or preventive maintenance) with a minimum of residue, which is easily cleaned with WD-40 and a rag, and can be re-taped if necessary.
The short barrel (4") modification is nice because I can use either stefans (stuffed all the way to the turret openings, with a minimal amount of ramrod necessary) or stock darts (useful when shooting my kids and don't want to cause too many injuries).
You can use a longer barrel (upwards to about 7-8 inches) for much better range, but you'd have to pack a ramrod with you and have another thing to keep with the blaster. Lose it during a skirmish, and you're stuck with stuffing the dart only a couple inches into the barrel and losing some effective range. The way we play, most of our shooting takes place inside of 30 feet, so long range, low ROF blasters are really quite useless (but fun every now and then).
Bottom line; you should modify the blaster to best fit the kind of Nerf games you'll be playing primarily. We've recently been doing cat-and-mouse kind of deathmatches (in and around a building), so mid-range, good ROF blasters are the standard.
I'm going to assume that when you said you 'plugged the restrictor', you meant the overpressure release valve in the pump plunger. Just watch your pumps. I plugged mine after the mod was done, and keep it to 2 pumps, 3 if I need to get a bit more range on the target. I wouldn't go beyond 4. You could, but you'll reduce the effective life of the air delivery parts, quickly.
My last SuperMaxx 1500 parts (living in a Sawtooth) are finally beginning the slow leak, after 4 years of faithful (and non-abusive) service. Time to Goop it.

To below I will check right............ now
Tundra Foam Filler
5/8" X 20
16mm X 6.1 M
( just completely copies it out)
I also don't need a rod to shove them down
Now I'm off to NerfHQ to read that helpful "how to make different types of stefans" topic
I'm back
