alright, i am in the process of designing a crossbow, it will be made totally out of 1/2" pvc pipe and fittings, and use the elastic strap from a pair of boxers for the band. i will update this thread and provide a write-up when i'm done. please feel free to provide suggestions/comments and the like.

I'm not too clear on what your idea is, but if you pull it off, it sounds like it will cost almost nothing to make.

My suggestion is you start capitalizing some letter or I'll check to see if the 9999 special is still available.

Hmm, as far as I'm concerned, I dont know if that'll be very strong. You might need something like a bungee cord instead....and use the elastic strap from a pair of boxers for the band.

Well, I know it hurts to get snapped with it. A little bit. Yeah but it will be tight between the two sides before you pull it. So it will be stronger.

You obviously havent thought this through.......
The elastic strap from boxers or anything similar doesnt stretch far, so if its already stretched then you may be able to pull it back a few inches before you reach its elastic limit. Then it will start wearing out, and besides, it isnt the strong to start off with so you wont get much pull out of it. Bungee cord would be ypur best bet.
And good luck.

Yeah you're probably right, but I'll try this then try to steal some of that stretchy elastic stuff from my friend....... he has quite a bit. All I need is a knife and some exlax .
