I had a new idea for a clip one day when I got irritated at figuring out how to make a detacable (sp.) clip so I made one that didn't requre you to take it off the gun so it stays there. So here it is.
Posted Image

the red is a T joint cut in half, the light blue is pvc, the brown is either balsa wood or sheet metal, the dark blue is a hinge and the white part is another peice of balsa or metal that opens to allow stefans in. the two prongs on the outside are to pull down so the dart goes all the way in to the chamber.

In the second oneit shows the inside. This clip is based off of the other clips I have seen.

So thoughts, questions, and opinions?

Edit: sorry after posing I realized that the pics are too small so if the admins would kindly resize them it would be much apreciated

Nice, but the whole idea of a clip is to quickly insert a load of ammunition and not have to reloadas often. Not to say your idea is crap, but it's just impractical to reload clips after spending them rather than taking it out and slapping a loaded one in.

I beleive he is thinking of something similar to the way a Lee Enfeild rifle is loaded, stripper clips. Good idea.

While on the idea of ww2 clip systems, has anyone thought of a way to make an M1 style clip? For those who dont know, the M1 is loaded by placing a clip into the top, which slides into a shell that looks like a mag itself. I think it would be effective because in theory, all you need is a special bolt to make this work. I t could be an advantage because you dont have to desighn a clip to hold your mag in place.

Haha, you said stripper clips! Kidding aside, what's a stripper clip?

I think the whole idea of a non-detachable mag works because you can just shove more darts in as you have the time, rather than having to remove the clip to load any more darts in. The kind of stripper clip idea works as well because then you would also be able to load a full mag of rounds when you run out.

Ah, I misunderstood your idea. Brilliant, is this idea. Let us know of your progress, and I will try to make one myself.

Do you all think either a stripper clip loading system or an M1 loading system would be effective/efficient?

My general idea is to take an unknown/zero breach as seen in the homeades, and make a clip attatched to the bottom permanently. Now, I could use the stripper clip idea, or I could work a bit harder and get me a nice little M1.

As far a stripper clips, the idea works, though I'm not sure if we'll have any problems due to the fact that we're not using 'solid' ammuntion or shells...like, it might be a little hard to have the darts stay in the clip while you're carrying it around, and then getting them off the clip and in to the gun. This is assuming that you have to take the clip part out of the gun when you're loading the darts, which I believe is how a stripper clip works but I'm not sure if that's necessary.

As far as the M1 clip, I won't have a good idea about it for sure until I try to build one. I don't think it would be all that bad to make a clip that fits inside the mag (so to say). In my mind, I'm just tring to think about ompa's clip and then what parts of it would have to be in the stationary mag and what parts would be in the removable clip. In the M1 clip idea, would you have to have a section of the barrel attached to the removable clip, that the bolt would go in? Or would you not have to worry about that?

My initial thought was to have a bolt that has an opening in the bottom to allow the darts in. the bolt is twisted and pulled back (like all other bolts) and is pulled back enough that the clip pops out, allowing you to insert another, close the cbolt, and commense fire again.
