Not to hijack your thread, but I thought I'd share some pics of me and Inlitned1 on our "end of the summer shooting trip" a few weeks ago. These are all taken at the range.
Our AR15 with assorted mags lying around it.
The various assorted mags we're experimenting with. The polymer ones are a pain in the ass to lock in, don't think we'll be using those much longer.
Me holding our Rock River Arms AR15. That's a stainless steel barrel. It's fucking heavy.
That's me shooting our Glock with all the upgrades they gave it. Since our Glock is from the first series of pistols Glock ever made, we kept the original slide and grip, hut have upgraded all the internals so it retains it's accuracy. Our Glock has a Hogue grip on it, like Bolt's.
My friend Inlitned1 shooting my Dad's old Smith and Wesson .38 special. Also, one of the first revolvers they ever made - back when guns were custom made by humans, not by machines. It's a relic but it patterns just as good if not better than our other pistols.
Just as a side story, while we were at the shooting range, we heard this really loud gun a few booths down from us. After 8 shots we heard a loud, "TINK!" and a metal sleeve flew out of the gun. We looked over, and sure enough, the guy was firing an M1 Garand at 100yd targets. I popped a stiffy.
I love modern guns, but I've got to give it to the relics once in a while, they may be old but they still kick a little bit of ass. My .308 is pretty old too, rarely fire it, but it's still accurate as hell. Wish I had some pictures of my Dad's and my collection of pistols to show, but sadly I do not.
-Groove out.
