I was just looking at the Zero Breech thing under Homemades here on the Haven, and I started thinking. With that breech, you pull the 1/2" barrel out a bit, drop a dart in, and push the barrel back in. Well since PVC isn't extremely thing like brass or PETG, wouldn't the dart have a bit of trouble getting into the 1/2"?

So I was wondering if this would work: Do the same thing, but cut a hole in the 1/2" PVC too. Line up the holes and drop a dart in, then twist the 1/2" PVC. Would this work better or worse than the Zero breech, or not at all?

I also thought of lining the holes, and so I did. just make sure to push the dart into the barrel a little cause once a dart got snagged in the bigger section and it did not fire.

Unless your dart is realy loose it won't go in. But you can sand the inside of the pvc(the end the dart goes in) into a funnel and it should work. You just need to put something in the back so the dart doesn't slide back when you push the pvc back. I have made a breech out of 1/2 in. cpvc and 3/4 in. cpvc with a 1/2 in. coupler in the back for a seal. I think it works better if you drop the dart in and then push it in the barrel with your thumb before you push the pvc back.

No, because nothing is making a seal. I tried that on my first breech and the air would not move the darts. The breech described in my first post works because the barrel when pushed in goes in a cpvc coupler to make a seal.
