I was working on a bullet for my dream gun(M16) and thought about a new bullet.
This is the image, The tip is actually suppose to be shorter.

it would make the mag smaller, use the standard stephan, but make it shorter. I also modded the Zero dart, all you have to do is add a few strips of the foam, and turn it into more or less is a dart with rifleing.

So you pretty much just shortenned the stefan, then instead of making the glob of gue recessed, you put it out and at a point? Wicked... you may convince me to throw away my stock darts...

I thought they would be better becuase they won't use as much pressure to firethem, and wouldn't have as much air resistance, though being light that will probably shorten their range, the M16 case that I need, I am having trouble finding, I need its original mag to be at least 1 inch to hold the darts, and able to be cut off without making it flimsy(did I spell that right? Oh well) I have one but it was way to small and flimsy.

As for the moded Zeros I thought they would put a spin better then the riffled barrel. I will propably shorten them and make their end pointy, too. Hopefully I can get the firing system to work, I am going to start another topic for the firing system though. It will be in the mod section

Iv tried 1" and 1.5" darts, the 1" darts get slightly less range than the 1.5" darts. You could try making the bullet stefan 1.25" might work ok. I think you are right about air resistance there defintly is less air resistance which should=more range. Your idea of making a bullet type stefan sounds like a good idea I'd want to tryr that. By the ways if you want a 1" dart try nanos, a 1" nano gets more range than a 1.5" micro. I have tried both I have nanos and micros so I know nanos get more range. It makes sense less mass=more range. You have to find the right weight for nanos however, if its too light accuracy won't be very good. I tried .2 and .15 gram bbs I think its a bit light. Id try either .25 or .3 gram bbs as weights. Then you get the same accuracy as a micro with increased range. I think 1" nanos with .25/.3 gram weights with pointed tip for bullet type ammo would work great. I only see advantages, less air resistance=more range. By the ways for the nanos I use 15/32" brass nested into cpvc. The fit is perfect jsut as good as micros to 9/16" brass. The problem is how do you make the tip a perfect cone? Will have to think of an idea for that. I will defintly consider your idea. I expect more pain when shot at however because the pain will be more concentrated and will be in a smaller area. I don't care though thats not a problem.

I also woundered about the tip, but I think I will have to ask my Phisics, Chemestry, and Biology teachers what shouldbe used.

Oh, I know it sound wierd to ask a biology teach, but he also taught other science classes.

Sorry for the double post.

ok, my science teachers didn't know how to make perict points, but someone said to make a mold, that you can produce more then one tip. then glue it on.

There is no need to double post here, there is an edit button for a reason. And I disagree with those new "Nerf Bullets" cause they look kind of inferior and too hard to make.

I know but an edit doesn't tell that it has been edited, like it tells you the it has a reply.

yes, that is true, it was just an exparement, I am working on more ways to make the tip.

The modded zero however is eisier just need to add a lfew little groves, the same thickness as the ring around it.

I think your idea of making "nerf bullets" sounds like a good one. You should defintly go for it. It should technically decrease air resistance and make the dart more aerodynamic compared to a regular nerf dart which should increase range a bit and maybe slightly increase accuracy or it may not change at all. The big question is 'What how do we make the pointed cone shape of the dart?' Good luck on this. I will think about that question and find away to make this dart. If you find something in the shape of a cone which is the right size then you could try supergluing it to a regular stefan on to the dry hot glue. Im thinking maybe we could make a stefan with a long tip of hotglue use a pencil sharpener once the long tip of the dart is dry and try to make a cone like that. I don't know if that would work.
