Rock.

Russian surplus NIB geiger counter complete with Geiger Müller tube and labels in Cyrillic for $27 shipped.

I <3 eBay.

Edit:
CAUTION!

There is high voltage (440 V) inside the case.

Do not disassemble the radiation dosimeter!

Do not use it with the cover removed!

Follow instructions carefully.

Hah! We've all seen warning labels about modification before...

Edit: Edit: Still not sure whether to use it in some kind of cold war monument sculpture or just integrate it into my xbow.

Depending on it's size you should pull out the walkie talkie part of a commlink 2, and integrate it in there. But, that's just my 2 cents.

Commlinks rock! (please note: I don't think its practical, I just love using it when I'm not nerfing. i.e. Halo 2 lan party's. I love pissing people off with the beeping noise.)

Try freakin' brassing a commlink. Mine kicks. It's just really big.

On another note, NICE find!

Just curious, Cx, why tf would you put that in your crossbow? I'm sure it's in jest, but even I don't joke about my crossbow...

lol.

How do you get the screws on the commlink open - I've looked everywhere and I can't find any triangle headed screwdrivers, I really need them seeing as I have 4 pairs to mod.

Love the comic reference - haha.

"I'm going to be integrating this old Russian geiger counter below the main barrel of my Crossbow."
"Why would you do such a thing?"
"To find communists. Or radioactive material. Or perhaps communists gleaming with radiation. Haven't decided yet."

Yeah, eBay rules.

Don't be surprised to find out there's radiation everywhere, including in food.

I used to have to use one of those every day at work for radiochemistry studies. If I spilled even a drop of water, I would have to be there cleaning it up until the geiger didn't blip anymore.

Find a small flathead that fits well from one point to another of the triangle head, and unscrew it that way.

machine your own.
Its not that hard just take a stripped hex bit and go at it with your dremel. or if you have one, a grinder.
