Hi all, I am new around here. I picked up a Maverick mostly because it is just a unique and fun gun and recently decided to try and mod it. I already have removed the restrictors and am just debating on a way to fill up the space (hot glue or foam stuffing), and next on the list it removing the nubs so the turret swings all the way out.

My question concerns the spring and plunger. Is it possible to replace the spring (supposing i can find one to fit) or is such an act not advisable? Also, I am going to try and pick up some silicone lube for the plunger and wanted to know if it was worth it or not?

I did use the forum search and did not find any answers to these questions, but if there are and I missed them I apoligize.

Here is the NHQ thread on my Mav. I personally can't get enough of that blaster especially for indoor wars where rane isn't as important.

Thank you very much, know I know that spring replacement is an option, now just to find a fitting one. I rather like the paint job on that gun, simple yet effective.

I guess this is a little off topic but if I ever get a Mav i'm definately doing that paint job to match my NF.

I did a paint job on my Mav and while it looks incredibly sweet (the silver on black that I mentioned) it actually made it a real pain to open and close the turret. I am now stuck replacing the gun and am going to leave it unpainted this time around.

I would not replace the spring I did that to mine and well now I have a broken mav. The catch part on the plunger snaped clean off, so now I'm going to put a NF plunger assembly in there. Somehow?

Meh, I could not find a good spring anyway, I had a bigger problem with the fact that the silicone lube I got ruined my O-ring, luckily it was easy to replace.

I had the same problem but if you just take some sandpaper to boththe turret and the blasters main body, it works fine. Mine is smooth enough that if you just hold the blaster sideways and push the button, it falls out.

You can use a spring if you find one about the same size. I did that to my Nitefinder and got impressive results (5 to 10 plus)

The gun comes alone with weak parts. Even if you stretch the spring it could break the metal cocking pin off the gun. So what I'd do is go to The Home Depot and buy a skinny bolt with a nut. I'd drill a hole on each side of the cocker where the metal pin is supposed to be and run the bolt straight through. This way it wont break. It does however make your gun look a little less clean. I have three and two of them broke the same way. Now I have interchangable barrels. I'd go with that along with sawing off the nubs. Good luck with your Maverick.
