The One Problem that The BBB has it shares with it's Older Brother The XBow, Spring Guns ARE LOUD, which kinda hurts the purpose of being a long-range hidden backup sharpshooter (or loser, if you can say that)

Agreed. If you use a pump gun and use something like Zero's silencer, you can have a very quiet, accurate, and long-range gun. Yes, I've tried it, and yes they work. Not to the degree of "omgz iz quieter than a dead baby!" but it does reduce sound to the point where it's not noticable from 15 feet away. Without silencer, you can definately hear the defining "pop" of an AT2k, or at least you can hear mine.

those Vortex guns that shoot those Koosh rings. Vortex guns are great losers in my opinion.

And in my opinion as well. Although they suck ass in wind, they are awesome in fair weather/indoor conditions. Also the rings fly pretty slow, so it's easy to dodge.
But they aren't obnoxiously loud, and they get good range. My friend has a Vortex Firestorm I absolutely love. Sure, there are better guns (BBB, Crossbow, SM1500, SM5k, AT2k), but this thing is the ultimate in Fun Factor. After all, you aren't trying to kill someone, as Talio said. This is Nerf. Fun is what it's all about.

es the Koosh things get pretty good range and amazing accuracy, but they're not good for so-called "losing." See if your Tornado gets 80 feet flat accurately (I have no idea what ranges they get, I've just heard good about them) and you try to hit me from 70 feet, I'm just going to step to the side a couple feet and rush you. Those things take forever to load, especially because of the slider thing. If you take that off it gets faster, but its still a bit slow RoF.

Edit: SG Pilot, LBB's work better with darts because of size and aerodynamics and stuff.

Actually I find Vortexes rather quick to load. They do get great ranges as well, but they are extremely vulnerable to any type of wind gust, I would't be suprised if you ran in front of the projectile that the wind from you running would cause the ring to alter course. Also, the projectiles are much slower than stefans, hence much, much easier to dodge.

To silence a spring gun just add some RTV silicon (the solid stuff) on the end of the plunger head it silences it like by alot.

Loudness doesn't matter if you can hit your target. Who cares if they hear you shoot when you are hit. Hiding isn't much of a tactic unless you are avoiding a bunch of people and trying to get back to your team to regroup. If you can sneak up on some one silently just give them a good old tap.

LBB's work better with darts because of size and aerodynamics and stuff.

So ultimately, it's more practical to use stefans than to use arrows/missles?

You mean just simply put that stuff at the rear end of the plunger (the rear end that touches the spring that propels it? That sounds cool. Stealth can be my best friend :)

Your kidding right? Darts are smaller, more accurate, cheaper, get better range, and have much higher velocities then arrows. Common sense man.

Yeah but for indoor/unmodded/air-restrictor-removal-only wars, the Blast Bazooka missiles and Max Shot bombs are a lot of fun, and pretty practical too. They bounce really well which is useful and hella cool. If you know how to use them, you can win wars with them.

The missles fit over PVC so I just shoot my brother with Max shot missles from my modded max shot and 1500. It is really fun.

Well if you put it that way, Just chop the restrictor of and you can shoot missles and the darts fit really nice in the stock barrel.

You have one of these things, sofa? Do they work any better than a regular nerf gun? at2k? I might get one just to mess with it hehe

Well, I was wondering if you found arrows/missles practical at all. It seems that you mod BBBs and X-Bows with brass/PVC so that they shoot darts and not the arrows. I personally think that arrows are a good idea, but their foam fins and stuff are flimsy. Maybe if they had a stronger, harder plastic frame at the rear of an arrow with harder fins.

EDIT-When I said stefans over arrows/missles, I meant stock darts, not stefans.

Wow, I'm also surprised this topic resurfaced. Usually "best of" topics won't make it past a page or too. That's kinda fishy, no pun on Mr. Fishy intended.

Yikes wrath. I don't think you're going to attract a big war with that.
