Yeah, Paintball definitely catches more proffessional attention... Note how there are multiple, profitable companies out there marketing these things. It's popular, and competitive enough that high performance becomes absolutely neccessary. That's a bit of why I worry about Nerf getting popular... With games like paintball, that is incredibly unlikely, but should it do so, it would become just like paintball, and with the expected competition and popularity, creative and original mods go down the tubes, since they'd be entirely superfluous, at best (anodizing, milling, as you noted). I doubt you'd need a "lab," more of a "shop." Some of my dad's coworkers at the Firehall are into paintball, smithing their own guns and such, and about all they need is a garage, some steel milling machines (I forget the correct name, I apologize), and maybe a small vat of sulphuric acid, for anodizing fun. Hardly a "lab," and hardly engineers.

But yeah, a knowledge of fluid dynamics is handy for optimization.

My question, is why the latest paint grenade is an overglorified rubber balloon? Please, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd be quite happy to admit so.

The tippman squad buster, one of the first paint grenades, absolutely sucked. It looked like a grenade, but didn't blow up like one. Most of the time when you throw it, after you pull the pin, it doesn't burst. The other player usually just throws right back at you. In addition, when it does burst, it just seems to fizzle out. At the scenario game I went to; this guy on our team, threw a grenade from the top of the fortress tower at our general as a joke. It missed and just fizzled out on the ground. It looked more like someone threw an egg at the ground. Everyone was looking down at it in disappointment. The new ones are designed like a ballon, because it is just more sensitive to bursting. I haven't had the experience of one of these thrown at me, but I heard the blast radius was 10 feet in every direction. One of the paintball videos at warpig shows this guy using a grenade in speedball. Instead of actually bunkering the kid, he beans a grenade right into the guy's stomach. It was very funny when I saw it for the first time. Those useless squadbusters suck so bad it was only effective when it was on the guy.

Wow, the definitive troll of the Nerf forums at it again. The kid that can't take a hint, and doesn't seem to care in any case. Hardy har har.

Doh!

**smacks forehead**

I actually remember Outburst from the old NO. The only thing I remember was everyone yelling (or typing, if you will) at him.
