I've recently bought two Mavericks and took out the air restrictors after trying it a couple times, stock. The barrels seem to fit stefans pretty snug so there doesn't seem to be any reason to replace them with pvc. After the restrictor mod, there was good improvement in range but not that good. It doesn't fire as far as a modded nite finder, even. My question is : I noticed that there's no rubber or soft plastic seal from plunger tube to turret- there's a slight gap, too.

What's a good way to create a seal that seals a moving part such as a turret? And what's one possible way to increase the air flow? I noticed that the plunger tube's hole on the Mav is a lot smaller than the hole on the Nite.

first- there is now way you will get a mverick to have the range of a night finder.
second- hot glue the turret to create a seal.

i know i did not capitalize guys.

I'm not a moderator or anything guys, I know so don't yell at me for saying this. But Supernoob3000, you can search through other topics by using the amazing "Search" feature and try and find the answers to some of your questions before making a topic. There have been other mods done. One that I did at ..... http://www.freewebs.com/mmmich/
was a great mod. Search through modifications on it and find the Mav one.

Yes there is. Stick the clip release part, rotating mech., and the clip in a crossbow.

You might want to try a loop or 2 of e-tape around the head of the plunger. then, to insure it to stay, fold the left overs of it on the front down and hot glue it. cover the whole head of it but don't make it to where is it over the tape or causing the plunger to stick out too much. Hope it works. But in reality, the mav kinda sucks with range.

the link that last man alive gave you is one of the ones that I used to mod my mav recently. I hope you're good with glue. I couldn't make a good enough seal, so I resorted to drilling out the orange disks. Since you've two Mavs, you may wanna clip mod one and use the clip from the other...

more efficient use of parts, i think.

Good luck!!

I gave a link? Well anyways, what you are doing is fine so far. And yes, stefs do fit pretty good in the stock barrels.

^_^ Thanks guys, i did try both the e-tape and the hotglue-only methods and the e-tape seems to work better (the turret has trouble moving 'cause solid glue's rubbery). Still, the range seems kind of the same with macro darts. However, I just tried it right now with stefans and boy- the Mav's not bad at all with the stefans! I'm guessing it's because you can shove the stefans farther down the barrels (thus to stefans, it's actually a longer barrel).

But I did also mod yet another Nite and a Secret Shot (both with copper pipes straight to the plunger tube) and of course, the Mav seriously can't compete with the range on these guns. They not only fire macros pretty far, but the stefans sound like they give welts at about 20'. Thanks again!
