The following link is the tubing available at the Depot

http://www.homedepot...dgnk.0&MID=9876

I'd like better range out of my RF 20....in order to do that, I'd need to inner tube/rubber band the bladder...resulting in higher pressure that might damage the stock tubing. So I wanna replace the tubing with something in that link up there....

I dunno the diameter just yet, so i need to check it...but does this sound feasible? Has anyone ever done/tried this?

Thanks all!!

The hoses that connect to the tank and pump will blow. It is said that it ruins your RF20.

I think we might be having a semantic issue here. I use the word "tubing" to describe the plastic hoses connecting the pump and bladder...I use tube in reference to the inner tube I plan to attach to the bladder.

Even if I use high pressure hosing/tubing as listed in the hope depot link, the pressure will be too great? I realize that modding the bladder without care for the limits of the pre-installed tubing is a no-go...

but would the proposed "put an inner tube over the bladder, replace the plastic hoses connecting the bladder and pump with high pressure vinyl hosing" mod still not work?

Where, exactly, have you heard this? You've answered several mod questions in a way that makes me suspect that you've never modded and don't really understand the historical context of these questions.

I just think you should limit your responses to personal experience or hard facts rather than speculating just so you have something to say.

deth,

Your homedespot link gets me a bunch of generators so I can't address the specific tubing you're looking at. The problem I see with your idea is this: increasing the pressure in the RF20/WF/PC does not significantly increase the range. I've seen people comment otherwise several times, but my personal experience is that you'll get an additional 5' at best and you can achieve that with heavy rubber bands so this would be overkill. Beyond that, additional pressure merely increases your rate of fire - something most people find undesirable in an actual nerf war context.

The only known way to significantly increase the range of an RF20 is to both band the bladder and impede the travel of the piston so that more (higher pressure) air is required to reach full extension and air release. There have been a number of threads on this, the first one I came up with was this one from a couple years ago.

Cool, I'll check the link you provided. I think home depot has the site set up to no allow specific items to be linked like i tried. I edited the link thrice with the same result. If you enter the search query "vinyl tubing" you should come up with what I was talking about.

As for your suggestion; I would rather just band the bladder anyway, but This post by duce indicates that banding the bladder would still lead to the bladder rupturing or something.

*sigh* maybe I should just drill out the air restrictors i the turret? That seems to be a fairly harmless mod...

From Thirst and my experiences, the stock tubing is too weak to handle vinyled bladders, I think this is what LastManAlive is referring to. If you replaced the vinyl as suggested, it should be fine if you can get strong vynil and a goop the connections.

deth, banding the bladder has never caused the bladder to be damaged in my experience, just the vynil connected to it. But, I also didn't read the post you linked to.
