I hear that you do not want to plug the overpressure release valve in the new version, but it is okay to do so in the older version?
So I need to determine whether my Blastfire is the new or the old. Thanks.

If you still have the box, the manufactering date should be on there. Otherwise, I don't know.Is there a way to determine if my Blastfire is the new version or the old version?

The new version has a return spring on the 'cocking slide' whereas the old version you had to pull it back and push it forward on your own.

Thanks. I have the new then, because I have the return spring. I will plug the hole as you said, without making a mound of it and keeping it flat. You can plug the valve in either version, provided you cut off any hot glue that extends past the surface of the pump head. That is, fill the hole with hot glue, don't make a mound of it.
