Before I forget- Boltsniper, obviously, provided the stimuli and clip holding solution for this, so thank you Boltsniper.

Here are instructions on how to make a very simple, easy-to-use, and effective homemade clip system. Itll look like what you see above when finished. First, youre going to need some balsa wood, I had wood about inch think.

Now this is probably one of the harder parts of the project, as I cannot give you exact instructions; the clip needs to be made in accordance to your dart size. First, you need to cut 6 pieces of balsa.

Posted Image

A are going to be your main sides. You want to cut these a little longer than the length of your darts, but not by too much. You want it so you have a little room, but not enough where you can slide the dart back and forth a considerable distance. How tall it is does not matter, it just depends on how many darts you want. Considering the strength of your wire you use for the spring later on, dart capacity will vary with individual construction.

B are going to be your front and back, if you consider how the clip would look on a gun. You want these about the width of your dart, plus a tiny bit over inch, because looking at this, the widths of the two main sides are going to be subtracted from the width of the front and back, which is why you have an extra ~ inch. Also, make these pieces about 1/3 inch less tall than your A pieces; youll understand when you try to stick it on your barrel system.

Posted Image

C is obviously going to be the bottom piece, so assemble your clip like the picture above, and then just trace the bottom onto the square piece. You now want to glue all of this together in the most obvious way possible, so it looks somewhat like this:

Posted Image

Now, onto the spring, I used this particular type of wire because it was the only type of wire I could really find in my house, short of taking the strings off my violin or piano.

Posted Image

The picture 2 above shows how you would bend the spring, so it somewhat resembles a leaf spring. MAKE SURE your spring is at least a centimeter less in length as your darts, or you will have friction problems with the spring. You want to make the spring longer than your clip, compress it, let it go, and see how long it expands back to. You want it to expand from the bottom of your clip to the top, so it may take quite a few bends.

D will simply be a piece that is smaller on all dimensions than your darts. Attach this to your spring, slide it in, and youre pretty much done with the basic clip. You can always add spring catches and whatnot, but Im lazy. I used superglue for all bonds, because its a wonderful feeling to get all your fingers superglued together.

After that, cut a piece of PVC in half lengthwise and glue it to both sides, so the final product looks like this.

Now, here are the instructions on how to make the barrel itself. Unfortunately, this section isnt much more specific, due to the fact it has to be manufactured based on your clip.

First, start by cutting a hole slightly bigger than your darts, and about the same length as your A section from your clip.

Posted Image

Next, cut a piece of brass that fits in your pvc about an inch longer than the hole you just made. It should fit snugly, like this.

Posted Image

Continuing on, you want to cut your handle hole, which would look something like this. You want to mark your pvc and brass, so the brass and pvc line up like this:

Posted Image

Here are instructions to the following pictures: In the first picture, you want the dot to be in the middle of the little extention of the black line, and have the end of the brass INSIDE the pvc. In the second picture, you want the hole to line up with near the end of the black line, and have the end of the pvc FLUSH with the pvc.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Next, just take your average sch40 T coupler, and cut it in half in regards to both circles, so you end up with 2 parts that look very similar to the pieces in this picture.

Posted Image

Then, sand down the insides so they can properly fit onto the barrel, put them around the clip like it would be normally held with the parts of the coupler, put glue on the sides of the coupler to be attached to the barrel, and glue it on there approximately centered, so the darts would be pushed up directly into the hole in the barrel.
Next, take your bolt handle piece, I used a small piece of brass (unknown size, but much smaller than 17/32) and use some sort of epoxy putty to fill in one side, so you have a solid side. The difference in the picture being make sure the epoxy is flat with the surface.

Posted Image

After that has dried, put your brass (bolt) in so both ends are covered by PVC, then use JB Weld epoxy and cover the now filled end of your bolt handle. Then, stick it on the bolt near the corner of the L in the bolt system, and use masking tape or some other kind of weak tape to support it so it stays upright while drying.

Posted Image

After all that, you should be done, and everything should hold up well. Now youve finished your own clip system, and if properly made and not slammed around, should last you for some time. If anything breaks, itll be the handle, which can just be sanded and then glued on again with JB weld, which takes about 4 hours to solidify.

Wow, I really didn't think that it could be that simple (I thought that it had to be more complicated) and that is amazing. Good jorb!

Nice. I made a cpvc bolt action for my single barrel at2k, except theres no no clip and I couldn't find a way to attach the handle. So I have to grab the end of the barrel and pull it out, put the dart in and push the barrel back in. I'm in the process of integrating this in to a toy MP5 shell.

Does you new clip and barrel effect the range? When you load the clip what keeps the spring from pushing the darts out?

Does it affect range? It doesn't seem to have too much of an effect on it.

My finger, at least until I get un-lazy and put a a small pin in that keeps the darts from flying out, I'll be sure to do that with my rifle, which I'll probably finish next week. Oh wait, I'll be gone next week, so the week after that. The stock is drying, the bolt section is in progress, so it's getting there.

So you just place darts in the clip with no shell? how do you only have 1 dart go up instead of like 3 then wont you like smush a dart or no? Also how does the dart stay int the brass it doesnt fall out when you tilt down?

The ID of the outer barrel is the same as the OD of the darts, so only one dart would fit at a time anyways. The brass is 17/32, which means there's no way for the dart to fall out forwards. The type of spring I used consists of only sem-strong wire, so it doesn't crush the darts. There's a reason I included a picture of the wire I used.

Do you pull the rod back then push it forward or push it forward then back.

So does that mean the dart goes inside the brass?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am trying to make something similar, and i wanted to know if this decreases range at all on an AT2K. If this was already answered, Im sorry to have revived this.

Did you run into this thread from a link I posted? In any case, I have a similarly designed mechanism (magvalve), and it doesn't loose much power at all. It's about the same as adding a couple inches of vynil tubing, or having a barrel a little too long, and not pushing the dart in all the way. If you're using a single barrel at2k, I don't see this being a problem (are you really going to hit people from that far away?!).
