Thats bull crap. We tend to use laser tracking to find enemy millitary instalations and millitary postitions.

Not laser tracking, tracking documents with laser printing. As in laser printers print a code of yellow dots that has the printer serial number in it.

That's pretty old, it's been on CSI as well. They also did the paper's watermark too.
