What kinda bb guns? See problem is their made to shoot bb's which are much much smaller than a dart. I don't see much potential from one.

Hmmm... Interesting, but what's the difference between that and doing a barrel swap on a cheap paintball marker?

Also think about this: it's made to shoot pellets (5 grams?) and a single stefan usually have at least two bbs in them, bringing the grand total to over or around 10 grams. I think you are better off either buying a brass eagle gun or an at2k!

A bb/pellet gun would not be the idea choice. Yes it does shoot a pellet/bb far although the air output is not that great, plus the weight of the bb/pellet it much less.
On the other hand, a Paintball gun does work quite well and has been done by many members. Take a look around the site or some other well known ones. I believe yakaman (not too sure on the spelling) has a good write-up for a blade PB gun.

I did it with a pump bb gun. I was just screwing around and made it, it rips holes it darts, when it shoots them it shoots them way to hard, adn it is dangerous.

Less pumps! Yes!

Which bb gun did you use? It must have been pretty high end in order to have enough air to punch through those stefans.

I've made a good 3-4 of them. Co2 is very volitile and plays hell on your darts, make sure you have a long barrel and it is preffered that you use 5/8" stefans for better accuracy and less of a chance of the weights flying out, why is why you should use clay instead of metal bb's, steel shot etc.

In cold climates the gun will be almost useless

I suggest you buy a brass eagle blade for like $15 and add a new barrel, foregrip etc.

The only reason paintball makers use co2 is that it is cheap to store, no need for a $150 nitrogen tank, however its hard on your gun parts due to its psi deviating from 300-2000 psi(Tippmann.com) on a regular basis and is far less consistant than compressed air, which we use in our nerf guns.

So from what your saying, co2 can pull a 120 shot and then a curve ball 60. Wow I did not think that co2 was that unconsistant, I always new it was but not to that degree. Would this play the same factor on paintballs?

What is the point, that isn't really nerf so theres no fun in that. Just get a nerf gun and do it the way real nerds do.

And as everyone knows, money makes the world go round. It's also the root of all evil, therefore the world going round is evil, and we should stop the rotation of the planet.

Some of us are nerds as well. Anyway, the gun; BB guns would be an inefficient, though possible mod. The problem is of course the efficiency. It is much easier and cheaper to use paintball guns, like they've said, but then you take out the only reason I play Nerf instead of Paintball anyway; freedom. Paintball guns have a bunch of negative connotation to them, and they're technically firearms in some states, so you can't even have them aired up outside a paintball field. Nerf guns are just toys, so you can play on a schoolyard if you want to. They don't have to know that my Titan can fire through a window :/

If you wanted to do it just for fun though, and built a custom barrel that would fire Stefans it loaded using say... boltsniper's spring clip method... that would be fairly awesome. Not useable in most wars, but a fun weapon to flaunt nonetheless.

Having a C02 canister attatched to your nerf gun takes away from one of the main obstacles nerf presents to its players. Its almost as if your trying to incorporate aspects of paintball in to it once you start building a trully extended period semi auto nerf gun. A pump airgun I can understand, but as people have stated this is potentialoly a very dangerous mod to those on the recieving end. Eye and face protection would need to be primo and you would need to test the guns velocity. Frankly for liability reasons I probably wouldnt shoot it at anyone.

Why would you turn a perfectly good bb gun into a nerf gun? To me I think a lot of people are taking nerf a little to seriously.

But thats the thing, that would actually be nerf. It is pointless to even bother with because that is stepping out of nerf and wouldn't be allowed in any wars any way.
