First, I take no credit for this, as it may have been done before.

The Rototrack.

Stock, it’s one of the better weapons to use in nerf, with a high rate of fire and a decent range (for a stock gun). However, when modded, it can end up being an effective weapon as well. All you really need is some cpvc, a rototrack, a screwderiver, and a dremel. First, open up your rototrack, it should look a lot like this:

It can also serve as a picture to put the thing back together if needed. Continuing on, take out the plunger tube, and plunger.

Then, take off the rubber ring, and dremel the nozzle/hole to nearly the width of the dremel tool shown here, which is about 3/8 inches in diameter. I used the particular dremel bit because it makes really nice holes.

Now, do the exact same thing to the little rubber ring. After you drill out both the plunger and the rubber ring, go ahead and glue them back together- I used superglue, but you can use the glue of your choice. Some pics of the modded plunger:

After that, just put everything back where it was, and time to work on the chain. With the chain, you want to drill out the back so the chain has holes a little under 3/8inches in diameter.

Following that, you should make several lengths of about 2-inch 1/2inch cpvc, depending on how tight it fits your darts: if it’s really, really, tight you may want less, or try 9/16 brass in place of the cpvc. If you use 9/16 brass, I suggest lengthening the brass to around 3.5 inches per chain piece. Then, just wrap the pieces in tape and glue/shove them into the chain pieces.

Now, I found that the seal between the plunger and the chain was not the best, so I cut a little circle/square type thing that I glued onto the plunger head, like this:

After that, you just put the whole thing back together, and you’re all set.

I get ranges of around 55-60 feet, which isn’t bad considering it’s a very high ROF chaingun.

Well done, ompa. I did this to my Chainblazer back about three months ago. The CPVC works wonders in chain, too. I had to make 200 of those inserts for all my chain. Blah, it took forever. Very nice work.

I did this a few weeks ago but used 3 inch peices of cpvc in my 12 dart chain. I didn't drill out the plunger tube or chain either. I get 65 ft flat and the accuracy is great. I'm going to switch between this and my crossbow as my primary. The only thing I don't like is you have to ramrod the darts down. The rof is very good though and it never jams. Its not like the rapid fire 20, where you have to fire 4-5 fire darts to hit a person. With this I can take out a person with one shot.

Nice. That mod combined with ditching the chain might be something I'd actually use. I used to do it to the chain blazers (as I'm sure many did), just cut the chain and attatch the individual barrels to the mechanism that feeds the chain. You end up with four barrels, obviously, but it's way more reliable than leaving it chain-fed.
