From what i have seen... The maverick looks cool stock, but sucks. When i shoot it level, it appears to go around 15 ft...
Any one found out how to mod it yet?

Unless I missed something in my absence, there still isn't an ideal mav mod yet, so ideally you should spend some time figuring out how YOU want to modify it. (This is technically how you should work every gun) The biggest things you have to worry about in the Maverick are making sure that the air loss spaces are either reduced or removed, possibly strengthening the spring, or enhancing the plunger tube, and modifying the turret to fit micro Stefans or whatever darts you're using. I thought about perhaps putting on a PVC barrel on the front of the frame (in front of the turret) and creating some sort of breech system back to the turret, only the turret turns WHEN you fire, so that creates a problem.

Awh, I agree with you AirApache.

I usually like to try to modify a nerfgun first before I look up a mod for it.
It makes me more proud about it, and has more potential to turn out original.

And if it makes you feel any better, i appreciate you. :D

Yeah I see where you both are comming from. but the mav is a prety intimidating blaster for a novice modder. Mine sat unmodded untill i could purchase a second one, as to have something to work against just in case i screwed up. I wish there was a mod to refrence just for tle sake of knowing it could be done. (I wasn't too active on the forums yet, 'twas a time pre-NHQ hack when it took several weeks to get an account varified, and CX wasn't allowing new members)

Has anyone tried sacrificing three barrels; hacking off the blue connection around the original orange barrel tip, opening the top for longer barrels, and making only three extended brass/PVC barrels so that it can still rotate around part of the way. I am assuming the turret can rotate both directions, and turns clockwise automatically. Three shots would be fineif everything else worked well.

I don't think I understand what you hope to accomplish by taking out three barrels. The main problems with the mav in my opinion, are that the seal between the plunger and turret is bad, and that the turret rotates on the trigger pull and not the cock. I tried drilling the air restrictors, I tried changing out the barrels with cpvc. Getting that turret to fit perfectly once it has been taken apart is so difficult that I've declared my mods unsuccessful. And by my mods, I mean other people's mods that I tried. With the cpvc, sometimes, when the plunger is PERFECTLY pressed up against the turret, the dart goes a flying... but most of the time, the dart makes it halfway out of the barrel and jams my gun.

I think having just three barrels would only increase the lack of seal (damn dirty double negatives!).

The only thing I would do to a mav if a bought another one would be to allow the turret to swing farther out. Because that rocks. (!)

Anywho, this has all been said before, but seriously. I don't want to believe it. The mav looks and seems so cool! I just don't want the above to be true.... too bad.

I bought another MAV in Colorado. Or some state... Do you think it could be made into a big singleshot pistol?

singling a Mav is nearly pointless. all you would be doing is turning the thing into a scout I know, I've done it.

Ok, so has anyone tried cutting of the front half of the gun but leaving the turret. and then glueing it on to the spinning mechanism and sticking some materials down the barrel? It would be a Maverick handle, cocking system and trigger bu with six long barrels on the front.

You probably didn't put it back together right. I did the same thing on my first attempt. Open it back up and make sure the front of the plunger valve is all the way forward so it touches the rotating barrel.

There is a chance your barrels no longer have a good air seal, if your air restrictors were not glued in I strongly suggest that you do something similar to this :
Posted Image
You Should quickly hot glue around the edges of the inner barrels and stick the rear end back on and let it dry.

I Hope That this helped.
