What type is better? I use a base with 4 walls and a roof with hinged ports to fire from.

Missing option: No camping.

When we play around here if you don't move fast you get shot. Bases aren't part of the game.

At my house bases are always needed for the type of games we play.

I voted short wall because if you have four walls with a roof and firing holes the people outside the fort will never be able to kill the people on the inside. For my next war I'm going to make a one wall fort for cover in my backyard.

Of course, if you have this big, sheltered base it just makes it that much easier to sneak up on it. I mean, when you have a roof and such that just means you have a lot of blind spots. So it is very easy to sneak up and just unload whichever automatic is preferred through a window.

With two people in the base and only one side with access and that guarded from hidden locations by snippers it would be nearly impossible.

Edit: I have ten people (5 v 5) I train with and I'm the comander.

Snippers arent going to do you any good, what are they going to cut? branches?

if you meant losers, they only have 1 shot, i can dodge anything within reason, and would simply dodge the dart if necessary, pop up on a solid side of the fort, put both my wildfires in the window and let all hell break loose

lets see, 5 hits kills, 40 darts, 20 per person for 2 people, you are at -15 lives, you die

Then it's all a matter of rushing the "losers" with my backup, a clip modded PC on a carrystrap with 2 extra clips on the strap itself

1 Skilled nerfer > 5 inexpirienced nerfers

(Note: The autos are there for kicks, i usually use a CPVC'ed MS/BBB with an LnL for a sidearm, the autos are if i'm troopering)

No base, we just have one team in the front yard and another in the back.

Well, if you'd ask me, bases ruin fun. Why? Bases allow an easy win for one person, if you sit inside your fort knox with a supercharged gun, it ruins the fun. Isn't this what nerf is for, enjoyment? Maybe you like to unload on someone because they pissed you off, aren't you still having fun though? You can supercharge your base, but are you seriously telling me that sitting inside a mini house poking guns out of windows is fun? I think that taking cover behind trees, blockades, etc. is much more enjoyable, not to mention you get more excersize. I also agree that it would be like sneaking up on a deaf grandma, unless your losers are homemades, they will most likely get dodged, then you will get filled with foam by Devious' wildfires.

Thats my insight,

HT

Whenever I make a base which is in some indoor wars, its never anything fancy. Just something quick that I can jump behind if I'm gettting my ass kicked. Basically what I'm trying to say is, less time base building more time nerfing.

I destroyed my base in the living room and decided to use the spare bedroom witch is the darkest (24-7) place in my house.

Sometimes during our wars at my house, we use my old treehouse and have a "siege" game type. Its fun as hell, though the treehouse gets ruined after each one and is slowly dying. Dont worry, we play other types of games too....

(Not the "california" or "DC" style like in most videos, more of a Northeast style with valleys, streams, sneaking, ect, since we got rocks and trees, and trees and rocks.......)

Just hide inside a cardboard box Solid Snake style, and pop out and shoot someone when they turn their back. It's really funny, but it only works once.

I never use bases unless I'm having a camp-out war. Otherwise they're just cheap. Its way more fun with bushes, rocks, streams, trees etc.

Short Wall. Who needs bases? I like to get my ass out and run around. The most cover I ever use is a wall. Otherwise, I turn on my heels and run like I'm being chased by the hounds of hell.
Quite frankly, I find camping gay. Maybe that's why I'm always the first to die. I'm a go-getter.
