When I pump it, it's as if it doesn't keep the air pressure in the gun. When I keep pumping, the pressure releases and I can't fire. The only thing I can do is pump once and hold it there, then fire, but it's not enough. It's modded. Did I break something?

Well, I borrowed it already modded from a friend. Just has a PVC barrel and plugged the pressure release thingy. I might have over pumped and broken something.

Well, every gun I've ever overpumped made a LOUD explody sound, so if it was fine when you got it and nobody else has ever touched it, you would probably know if you had busted the tank.

Check valve is probably defunct. THere are more threads like this. Your best bet is to replace it.

I tried fixing my check valve on my defunct AT2k, but each time, it ended up breaking apart after the 3rd or 4th shot. I still have the pieces. It was pretty ingenius actually, I had a spring, a rubber piece left over from a spare NF, and some other things, but it's just not as good as factory made check valves.
Get yourself a double pack and check to make sure both work before you buy them (pump them up even in the box, just to see if they work).
If you really want to try, though, then here's what you do. Cut apart the plastic between the pump tube and the vinyl tubing. The check valve will be inside. Now here's the part where you gotta do some of your own creative thinking. You can take out that check valve and somehow make your own or fix the plastic to make it work. You should be able to see how it works by looking at it. Lets air in but not out. When you put it back together, epoxy and hot glue are your friends. I didn't have epoxy on hand so thats probably why mine failed.

The exact same thing happened to mine, I just sprayed some silicone lube down the pump tube, and pumped at a few times. It fixed itself. You should probably try that before cutting anything.
