I'm just curious what everyone prefers. My vote goes to pistols, I'm not much of a rifleman.

Rifles tend to be more accurate.

Hm. I have an easier time aiming pistols. I'm a pretty good shot with a handgun, but with a rifle I'm usually lucky to even hit the target. That and it's easier to transport pistols.

Of course it may be that I've never had a good rifle. Who knows?

I voted pistols. They both have their pros and cons, but I aim better and I've the most nerf wars with my NF. I'll try to get a pic up of it sometime. It's custom painted, and I'm not the best painter. But it still looks kick-ass to me. ^_^

I've got timing so good with my Nite Finder, I tend to just carry dual NF's now. I voted, pistols.

It depends on what aspect we are voting on. For sheer performance in a war, the rifle is better because of its superior range and accuracy. Now if we were talking of the fun factor, a pistol war is a lot faster paced and in my opinion much more fun than a typical deathmatch. Unfortuntely you can only play so many pistol rounds before everyone is completely dead.

I voted pistols; I carry dual NFs too, but a rifle can be a good choice, such as an AT3k. Or an RF20 or two. ^_^ Not all pistols are inaccurate. While it is true that rifles tend to be more accurate, pistols often have better rate of fire, and it's easier to dual wield with them. I love pistols, and I've never tried dual wielding my RF20s, but that might be fun. My vote is definitely for pistols, though, just for their sheer rate of fire and sometimes good range. Look at jjb's Tek 6 mod, that little beast can get 73 feet!

Each has their own ups and downs. I voted both because it's kind of a classic thing, carry a primary with a pistol. I take these into a war, and I couldn't be happier.

However, I like rifles more. I tend to work better with a bigger gun. It's kind of weird, since I'm a really small guy. It gives me a better feeling of control. Not to mention superior distance & accuracy... This doesn't mean that I go loser. losers get the job done, but you have to wait too long. I'm a go-getter, even if I carry a rifle.

I do have to admit that dual NFs are pretty bad-ass. My friend carries them in a war, and it's cool how versitile he can get with them (maybe versitile isn't the work I'm looking for). It's just a shame that I waste him 4 times out of 5. It sure looks cool to see him charge though...

Yup, voted both, but I have a slight edge toward rifles.

I'd consider it a pistol because of its size.

I lean more towards pistols, however, I voted 'either', because it mostly depends are the type of war you're having, if I could be wielding double Xbows insted of NFs then I definetly would, but I enjoy the faster-pace pistol wars alot more if you want to go by fun.

I depend on both equally. I carry a Crossbow and NiteFinder.

The Crossbow is for the kills, the NiteFinder is for reloading. Pulling out my NF and waving it around is part of my reload procedure. But then again REN tends to rush me a lot.

I rarely make kills with my NF, and I'm usually screwed if it's empty.

I usually use my pistol as a back up. In case someone decides to rush me while I reload.

I shoot rifles naturally, but voted pistols because they don't break as often (for me). That and, just like what everyone else said, CQB doubles is so much more fun than popping off rounds at 50"+.

...its just my opinion but I think an moded at2k is the most versitile wepon out there.

Agreed with poo.

I don't really know what exactly determines a blaster to be a "rifle" or a "pistol" (aside from the obvious, like the NF, TTG, or the Crossbow and Vortex Tornado, etc.)...

A shoulder stock?

Large in size?

Long barrel?

A scope? ;) (sorry)

Blasters such as the AT 3000, AT 2000, SM 1500 in both versions, Hornet, BlastFire, etc. are a pretty grey area, if you asked me. I can fire all of them easily with one hand, but I usually use two hands when using these, though they don't have shoulder stocks on them (though that's what some users have added with great results).

I have no problem with either rifles or pistols, but my playing style makes the two handed weapons (AT 2k, 3k) my choice. Maybe when I finish my F.A.R. I'll have a more rounded experience and can clearly determine whether I prefer rifles over mid/small arms.

If the 2k goes under pistols I would have to say both. I carry an AT2k and Crossbow in a war.

If the 2k goes under pistols

No, AT2ks should not be under pistols. They are simply 1500 internals in a smaller shell.

I should hope no one shoots the messenger when I say this, but SMG actually somewhat fits. Well it fits as well as putting actual gun titles onto any nerf gun does.

Either way I think I shudder any time I hear “Nerf SMG” or something to that effect. Bad notations, and it’s really been over used by the wrong sort of posters.

In other news I voted “both” though “either” works.

I voted both because I use a rifle and a pistol in wars. I can't go duel because it screws me up. I usually use my rifle with both hands.(that makes it easier to reload) and have my pistol holstered. When I am rushed or need to use my pistol I will use it with my right hand and switch my rifle to my left.

well I voted different than all of you. I have the Gotcha super blaster. Aim and distance not so great but it is a good charge weapon and holds 8 you read right 8 balls four per barrel. If you pull out the plunger it shoots 1 ball when you push in it shoots one ball. It is two feet long plunger not exsetended, exstended 3 feet. What is it?

I voted rifles because usually I'll be using an AT3000, BBB, or SM1500. I like being able to shoot someone and not have to be right up ontop of them. Plus, I guess I'm not the best modder out there, so pistols have never really shot more than 50 feet for me. I hear all of these people saying that their TT or NF can get 70 feet, but that's more like what I get with my BBB. I don't know, I'm just more of a haha-you're-running-from-me-but-I-can-still-peg-you-in-the-back-from-60-feet kind of guy.
