I tried to mod it but when I pulled it out of the old bin and pumped it, it worked because I could feel the resistance on the pump but when I went to fire no air came out? HELP.

Did you plugg the airrelease valve?
When I did this, and pumped 3 times there was so much pressure in the airtank that the trigger spring couldn't pull the metal rod out. If that's the problem, just do the bic pen mod.

It's never been modded, I openend it up and pulled the trigger and did it physically with my hand as well, I can see the rod come back and the valve opens, but there is no air in it?

Does the pump increase resistance each time it's pumped? If not, then you may have a broken check valve, if you indeed can feel resistance with each pump. Also, try checking for leaks in the tubing/airtank, because it may be leaking air after a certain pressure has been put into it.

My AT3k has a broken check valve, I think. If that's the case, it's unrepairable. I believe. Luckily my other one shoots fine.

You could replace the pump itself.

To check for leaks I put whole thing under water and pump it right? if so, how do I get that huge yellow thing off?

**EDIT** I put it in a bucket of water and when I pumped it it was fine but then when I pulled back on the metal rod, the air (bubbles) came out of the place where the rod slides out from... Not sure if this is the check release valve or whatever, but that's my problem.

Ich, that's bad. That's the spot where the firing rod enters the air chamber... Try spraying WD40 or silicone grease at that spot, or you'll have to open up the chamber itself, replace the o-ring, and somehow glue the chamber back together again. Not pretty options, but go ahead and try them.

Option A didn't work, guess I'm stuck with B. Any ideas how to get it open? and where can I buy o-rings, home depot right? If so what section? And I should use epoxy to close it back up again right?

You can get o-rings at Home Depot, yes. As for closing it back up- I'm really not sure- I had a piece of PVC cemented in between my 2 halves of my SM5k tank, but I'm not sure with SM3k internals if th at would allow the rotating mechanism to work anymore.

Bandsaw will give you your best cut, but a dremel of hack saw could work.

BUT before you open in up, on a good simipermanent fix is glue a small o-ring around the rod coming out the back of the tank. Glue it to the tank, not the rod. It should fit tightly and be well oiled after the glue (I prefer an appropriate epoxy that wonít harm rubber/polyurethane, and paintball gun oil is great for o-rings). This is essentially what is donít inside the tank and if not done carefully wonít work; that said if done wrong you wonít ruin your gun. This has worked on my sm5k, and a few other peoples supermaxx/airtech guns. Though itís not sure fire, Iíve had stubborn 5ksí that needed to be hacked open also.
