This thread is devoted to stories of thrift store and yard sale goodness. Anybody can go online and pay $40 for a nerf X-bow, but the guy who bought one for two fifty at someone's yardsale has a bigger smile. Here's some of mine.

Found a SM 1500 at the goodwill store for a buck. Cracked it open and fixed the o-ring on the pump so it works again. Standard mods, and it's one of the best guns I've got. I'll buy that for a dollar.

Got a beat up ULTIMATOR at Carolina Thrift for $1.50 spent over an hour fixing the thing. Even more time making a missile that worked, but having a nerf weapon that has a kick to it when you fire is prety darn nice.

Same place I got the SM 1500 I found a Lock N Load. Had the top part cracked off before I even got home. It's no Nite Finder, but it's compact as hell and decent for a side arm.

Some kid that saw us nerfing in the park asked if we'd like to buy an old gun he had lying around that didn't work. I figured he had a busted up Wildfire from how he was talking about it, but the next week he brought a POWERCLIP and just GAVE it to me, since it didn't work. Good thing I knew how to replace the air bladder. Nothing's better than a free PC.

Three splitfires and a sm750 for $0.49 each, a complete Dt3(beltclip and everything) plus most of a percepter and a ton of ammo for like three bucks, sm1500 for a buck fifty and a nightfinder just last friday for a buck.

Of all people, I should be the one who should be reporting the best deals. Unfortunatley, i have yet to be that lucky. My best deals were an ultimator for a buck and a crossbow, 750, super soakers and a few others for 2 leather belts (no typo). The guns were all in terrible condition though (thats where my famous "chipped" X bow came from).

The best deal that I found was an Eab, Wildfire, Tornado, Sm750, Secretshot 1, and a BBB for 10 dollars. All at the same thrift store together, ever since then though I haven't been as lucky...

Well I always thought I had an EaB but I wasn't positive. But, I found an all black dart. With I heard was from the series the EaB came with. So I now know I have it somewhere, Also I found a dart tip from the chainblazer I always thought I had. Haven't found either of them but, who knows.

First Crossbow for free- a friend's, said I could have it provided I was able to fix it, which was really simple.

Second Crossbow- $10

SS1, $1. Some people don't like the gun, I LOVE it.

Backlash- free, a friend said he didn't like it, so I took it.

SM5k and SM500, $7 for both.

I guess my all time freebie was my SM5k; the kid who bought it was one of my church volunteers...after I modded it for him, the (old, red) pump body split 6-7 different ways, and he abandoned it in my workshop. One SM 1500 pump later, it was good as new, save for the few extra pumps to get it up to pressure (slightly smaller pump).

Most of my good deal blasters came from eBay; the Secret Shot 2 NIB (6.99), the Triple Torch NIB pack(.99), and the four SM350s (.99) .

My nephew kind of gave me two blasters; an EaB with a trashed plunger shaft (broken right where the plunger should be), and a Sharpshooter II with a badly broken case (the place where the plunger catch stays in place...all gone/ stripped). I took the two blasters, did some transplant surgery, and voila! EaB with SS II plunger/ rod/ retainer!

He was blaster-less, so, feeling sorry, I gave him two NiteFinders. Now he has an N-Strike set, the two NFs, a Tech Target Set, and a pretty nasty homemade (M79) that my brother-in-law got to work well. Everyone wins.

EDIT; There's a great dude on NH that allowed me to obtain some blasters that I wouldn't have been able to get; Max Shots and AT2ks. He'll be safely anonymous before he gets blitzed by PMs from everyone. That was a deal in itself.

I don't have much time for visiting goodwill or garage sales but I do keep an eye out for major retailers putting good guns on clearance.

I bought approximately 20 each of Max Shots ($5) and at3ks ($7.50) from TRU when they went on clearance.

I got two cases (10 guns, I believe) of powerclips from kmart at $5 each.

About two years ago, Toy Liquidators had Splitfires reduced to $3.50 and I managed to find about a dozen in the three locations relatively close to me.

Around the same time, Target had Blastfires reduced to $5 so I got a few of those too.

He probably jsut told them he needed more than what was on the shelf and they handed him a case of them from the back. Or in his case, cases. Ah rather reduntant of me.

The PCs were from kmart's online store. There were lots of people buying them at that price because word got out pretty quickly on NO.

For one month, saturdays and sundays I went to every thrift store and yard sale I knew about within 25-30 miles of me (paying my dad 5 bucks a weekend). Guess what I got:

Is this just for yard sales because I haven't got anything from yardsales or thrift stores. BUT my friend has an old sm1500 that he'll give to me for about 0.50-$1.00 My parents said that I couldn't take it without paying for it. The only thing is he lives out in Marengo which is 40 min. from where I live. But it's a sm1500!

No luck yet with yard sales/thrift stores other than a Sawtooth from about 7 years ago. Sadly I have no idea where it went.
