Hey, I am relatively new to Nerfing. I was thinking about making my own nerf pistol. I'll probably use the guts of a NiteFinder without the laser, but what should I make the case out of? I was thinking Resin but I am not sure of the durability, but then again wood might be very time consuming.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Why did you want to make a new case for it? Are you trying to make a replica of another gun?

Yes, my bad should have been more clear. I was going to base it off Vash's Gun from Trigun. I'm pretty sure it was tried before, but I have not seen any results.

I saw that one orginally, but it wasn't finished and I shouldn't bring back old topics unless I have something of importance to add. And I didn't really. Has anyone even tried to make custom casing?

You could try sculpey polymer clay. You mold it however you want and then bake it. It hardens into a strong plastic that you then can touch up with a dremmel or x-acto. It's quite popular in custom action figure making. I'm using it for a pump relocation mod for my titan. you can get the stuff at most craft stores and some wall * marts have it too.
