Well, now that I fixed the PVC problem, I found out my pump isn't working. Well, there appeared to be something stuck in the bottom of the pump tube. It was clear and small and looked like hot glue, which makes sense because I was working with hot glue around the tube earlier. I tried to fish it out with an unbent coat hanger, but it wouldn't budge. I heated up the wire and tried poking it, because I thought maybe if it was hot glue, I could re-heat it and it would move. Well, didn't work out. Is there anything I can do to fix my beautiful AT2K?

I have not performed the Liquitron mod (cx proved it doesn't do anything, and it's kind of useful in that it shows you if you have any air left or not) or plugged the pump. When I try to pump it, I get a lot of resistance and the pump is shoved back out about halfway when I let go of it.

Here's 3 pictures of the pump tube. If you can't tell, there's the normal stuff, that clear crap, and some black crap from when I heated the wire.

You've got a shot rubber gasket. If the rubber piece at the back of the tube still looks to be in place, try spraying some silcone spray down there. It's fixed more than one bad pump for me.

Edit: Can't seem to get these terms straight. I don't mean the over pressure release valve, but the rubber gasket thing at the back of the shaft that only alows air to go through one way, what ever that is called.

To properly answer you're question I think you should provide more information on the actual problem. You say the pumps not working. Well, what exactly does it do? What kind of noise does it make? To properly remedy your dilema, you should always remember to give enough information.

There is a membrane in the back of the pump that allows air to go in but not out, I can't remember the exact term for this right now (It's not check valve). That could be the problem, it could also be the pump arm itself. As stated before, please provide more information so we're not just guessing.

It worked before I opened it up. I can hear the pump when I pump it in, and when it shoves itself out it makes a noise. It's really hard to explain. If I pump it once, hold the pump down so it doesn't pop back out, and pull the rod thing (the thing you put the piece of the BIC pen on when you do the BIC pen mod) it shoots a bit of air, about as much as would come out on a single pump I'm guessing.

Sounds like you might have clogged the valve, but I'm not entirely sure. I'd highly suggest just dropping it and picking up a new one. I don't have any patients for air guns, so if it dies (especially one as availible) it just doesn't make sence to beat your head against a wall trying to fix it. Up to you, good luck. Worst comes to worst, try changing the pump.

So, is there any way I can un-clog the valve? I really want to fix it because if I don't, my parents might not let me attempt to modify another gun for fear of me breaking another one which in turn wastes their money.

I once had a sort of similar problem with leakage from my messy At2k. I found that there was a leak coming out of my pump tube, but i glued it up and it was fine. It shoots just as well, maybe better now. And no, the water won't damage it, but when you fire, a bit of moisture may come out, but it looks damn cool, like CO2.

Ah, I've had the exact problem before. Here's what's going on. The check valve, which is situated right between the pump shaft and the vinyl tubing, is probably malfunctioning. The check valve allows air in, but not out. Some at2k's come corrupt like that, and some of them it's because you probably did something wrong when plugging up the overpressure release valve, because if you look in side the pump shaft, the rubber end of the check valve pokes out about 1/8". I tried fixing this manually once before by sawing off the plastic and putting in a new check valve, but it was extremely tedious and it ended up having other semi-related problems, and its just not worth it. I'd buy a new at2k if I were you. Check to make sure that it pumps while it's still in the box before you buy it.
