i am somewhat new to the nerf gun modding scene
i own 2 nite finders, 1 air tech 2000, and a secret strike (little key chain blaster)
how can i improve my airtech 2000, i have already put a nice barrel on it and that works well but i can only pump it once before the air starts coming out of the pump handle part (makes that weird escaping air sound) is there a way to make the plunger tighter so that more pressure can be built?

But what you can do, is take the pumping system out of the gun, hold it under water, and pump it. You will see air coming out of parts of it. Use plumbers goop to aply over the holes you can see, and it should stop leaking. After you do that, you can also plug the overpressure release valve at the end of the pump with hot glue. This is isn't a good idea in all nerf and nerf type guns, though.
Good luck with your modifacations and welcome to NerfHaven!

That air noise is the air escaping out of the over pressure release valve. You can plug that up by putting some hot glue over it. You can then get a lot more air pressure into the air tank.

Odd. I had the same problem with my At2k - the check valve thing - or the problem with air leaking out the pump tube. I thought that it was just the fact that there was too much space between the o-ring and the pump tube itself, so i just slathered (sp?) around it and various places on my pump. Worked like a charm.
Ehhhh? If it's coming out of the pump "tube" then that's a broken check valve at the back of the pump. Uncureable. If it's the handle/shaft itself, then yes that's an overpressure release valve acting up. Take out the handle/shaft, look in the back, and clog the small hole with hot glue.

Yeah, it's the air release valve. I had the same problem, and plugging it works.
Note: He said air escaped at the handle. This is the only thing that could be wrong. If it were a bigger leak, it would be heard inside the gun. It's probably fixed by now anyways.
