Alright well, let me start out saying that I love the Mav. Even though the ranges aren't so hot, I think the rof makes up for it and then some. But so many people seem to hate on it because it can't outshoot their nitefinders. Well my friends, thats all about to change...sort of.

So a few of my friends and I are having one of our all night wars out it the country this weekend so I started to do check through my arsenal and see if anything needed improvements. Besides my WildFire exploding and my TTG shooting the whole plunger assembly out the front of the gun, it was an ok check up, except for my good ol' Mav. I knew that it would get used this weekend so I decided to try and beef it up. While looking through my massive basin of busted guns and parts. I came across two good sized springs. One I believe was to a SneakShot but the other is unknown. The SneakShot one pretty good and was about the same diameter as the Mav.

So I figured what the hell and put the spring in. It fit perfectly. Getting the case back on was a bit of a challenge but after a few tries. It went together. I noticed that when cocking the gun there was a greatly noticable increase in resistance. I loaded it up and shot a few rounds. I was very amazed. It shot about with the same power of my NFs so went outside fore a range test. The result of the test:.... 65-70 ft! Ot quite on par with the NF but close enough, and with six shots its awesome. I am very satisfied with it. It is definately my new favorite sidearm.

The only downside is that I noticed that the plastic around the pulger was becoming stressed and will need some reinforcement, but no biggie. Anyway, I highly recommend looking through your broken guns and find somehting that fits. Its a quick ten minute mod with astounding results.

Wow, 60-70ft? Thats awesome for a Mav. I only did a basic air-restrictor removal to mine and mine gets like 45ft. I still don't use it that much though. I think I might try your mod. Good job!

Pretty good, I'll have to fnd a spring for mine, it's nice how hasbro made such perfect stock barrels for that gun isn't it?

And as everyone knows, money makes the world go round. It's also the root of all evil, therefore the world going round is evil, and we should stop the rotation of the planet.

Can you possibly give a length or size of the spring? I don't have a sneakshot, and don't plan on getting one due to cash shortage, but i'm sure if i have a spring size i could find one to beef up my mav.

First of all, I want to say that I am completely with you with the whole loving the mav. I have (now) two last mods to do to mine before I can show it off, but it's my pride and joy.

Second, thanks for the mod idea, I usually don't assume that I have the resources for mods people put up here, but I actually do have 2 sneakshots. I'll do the mod next week and tell you how it went.

The length of the spring is abour 1 inch longer than the mav one and its black. I am not 100% sure the spring was from the sneakshot so don't get mad if it's different. Someone over at NHQ said that they did this and the whole plunger blew up and is now worthless so use caution. I'll try to get a pic of the spring up so you guys know about how big it is.
