Have you guys found FBR in different colors? If so, please tell me what color it is and where you got it.

www.aloghomestore.com is where I got mine. They sell the black kind. I believe it's only about 3 or 4 dollars for 50' of FBR. I bought 100' and it should last me another year or so. Someone on this site sells pink FBR, although it's a little expensive, it is way easier to find your darts. Oh yeah, don't try spraypainting your darts orange so you can find them easier. It doesn't work (learned that the hard way <_< ).

Yes, there have been grey, black, white, pink and red. That's it, mostly it's grey and black, the rest is hard to come by.

That's all that needs to be said really, lets not make this a topic where we talk for 4 pages on the color of FBR. Shorty, go ahead and make your plug, but past that, lets try not to take this too far, please.

Now I'm a BIG fan of nite wars outside, and we have serious trouble finding the darts. Would the darts still work if I sprayed with a little glow-in-the-dark spray paint? If not, what would go wrong?

Formerly Sane says it doesn't work. But you can use glow-in-the-dark hot glue for your tips, that's what I do. (and it's only $6 a pound!)

http://www.aloghomestore.com sells black and white FBR in 50' rolls.

Okay, I know we weren't supposed to take this topic too far so I'll try to make this my last post in this one. I tried to spraypaint my darts orange, but the paint just doesn't cover the whole outside of the dart. A painted dart becomes stiff, and dried paint dust comes off whenever you put a stefan in your barrel. After a few weeks of use, the paint came off completely and in the process it got all over my hands, guns, clothes, and floor. In short, sounds like a great idea but it does not work at all. Go for colored FBR or just surrender to the mindset of, "I have another 80' of FBR, who cares if I lose 10% of my darts?".

No no, he asked a valid question and deserves a chance for an answer. I just don't think it deserves nine pages of dick wagging like Grinches recent topic.

Actaully FS, I'm going to back you up here, you're right, that does actually happen. My first batch of darts ever were spray painted yellow. I liked the stiffness but it ruins barrels, and yes, like you said, comes off completely after a couple of shots.

However, Langley came up with a pretty good idea and dipped the back of his darts in orange paint. First off, orange isn't the best color. It's great for things like road signs and saftey vests because that's a large object. There aren't many natural large objects in nature. However there are leaves and weeds that are naturally orange, so I find that I don't see the orange as well. Hot pink however stands out like brothel in Utah. Even yellow wasn't all that successful. Personally, if I were to do it, I'd use pink. The glow in the dark stuff would work for a while, but remember that the paint needs to be charged and after a while will not glow. Possible fix for this would be to keep the darts you're not using during the particular round you're playing inside under a desk lamp. Make sure you do a dart run after the round and then switch them out with some darts from you're lamp.

Could work, just a suggestion.

My friend in the FDG painted his darts by rubberbanding a bunch togeather, and spray painting the TIP of the darts. It sticks to the hot glue, dosent come off in barrels, and it stays on longer. (We use Krylon Fusion, which WORKS for guns) Some of the paint oozes down the sides, but not a signifigant amount. It also helps to ID the darts, because about 75% of our clan is gunless, ammoless, and dosent want to make stefans, so that task falls the senior members to make people darts. We are thinking about selling them darts. Whats a good number to sell them and what price should we sell that amount for? Is 50 enough for a single shot gun? (BBB, BowNArrow, Pistols)

That's cool. It's like the opposite of camouflage. I should try that - only I'll paint it green since there aren't many alive plants here.

Or, you could go around with a light to look for your darts. Or maybe a black light.

I like that idea but like was it the back half or just the flat surface of the back?

We tried lights but black some what blends in with the dark green grass, would black light make the darts glow?

I like that idea as well but have had bad results when trying to paint the glue, is it because it's Kryplon Fusion? If so, where did you get it?

Krylon Fusion! Its been on commercials on TV. You can find some in your local craft store, easily. Its in many colors and its in spray paint form, which makes it easier. Try it out, see what happens!!

Yup. And you can order glow-in-the-dark, among a crapload of other colors, hot glue for just $6.00 a pound here.
