[Jay Dub]

I have decided after a long while to put my lame, but very cool, skills in html to work. After long hours of thinking, really about 5 minutes, I decided to make my nerf gang a website. I was hoping for comments and feedback through NerfHaven before I went to far. Thanks for the help guys!

I have some constructive criticism towards the home page.

1) The word "NERF" in the banner is too stretched out and grainy.

2) The "G" in "FPG's" in the banner looks like and "O".

3) The words "The Foam Pikey Gang" should become part of the banner and not seperate font on the page.

4) The black steffans spinning around beside the words "The Foam Pikey Gang" don't look cool and I suggest you take them out.

5) The imformation under "News" shouldn't be stretched out so far. It should be maybe 1/3 or 1/2 the width it is now and you could stretch it more verticaly.

6) The shades of blue you chose to use could be quite better.

Just trying to help, not put down your site.

Another edit: Try to blend everything together more: the site looks kinda peiced together.

Thank-you for your input 1/2, I am still piecing the site together and will work on most of the ideas you submitted. If anyone can find a better nerf GIF, movie or not, please tell me. The graphics are bad because im not on my laptop, my brother has that. They will be updated also. I'm searching for the blue shades but having no luck.

The FPG is in batavia NY, between Buffalo and Rochester.

In the end the site will look smoother.

Replying to PM's won't work for me for some reason... So I'm just going to reply here.

Actualy, I liked to blue on blue combo better. Black doesn't usualy look good on a site, it just so happens it did on NH though... Keep searching for new colours!

Don't look for a Nerf banner, make your own with photoshop or something. Even use MS paint.

Sorry 1/2, I didnt mean the banner, I meant to replace the stefans, but they may just be removed. Thanks for your input on the black though. I almost finished the main parts of the site. Thanks again!

Sorry to be critical, but its just another clan site. Its hard to set yourself apart when there are some very good clan sites. Honestly, I think thye problem with the site is that there is absouluteley nothing that would make me want to go back, no reviews, no mods, nothing of much intrest.

If you aren't planning on putting up any content I would just keep it a clan member-only website.

Thanks Jin, that helped a lot surprisingly. I decided to change my side menu to what you suggested and see if it works better for some people. I really originated this idea just for my gang, but now that I'm refreshed, more will be done.

And I understand that it's just another clan site now, but it will gain more as I keep adding to it.

First off nice site second off here are some "constructive" forms of criticism for 1/2 regarding his post.

1) He asked for comments and feed back, in situation like this I would strongly recommend that you try and balance the emphasis on positive to negative feed back.

2) You are right about the word "NERF" but for the future I suggest you give a suggestion on what he could do to fix it, kind of like how I just suggested how you could give nice feed back.

3) You must be blind if the "G" looks like an "O" there is a line at least 2-3 pixels wide in side of it turning the "O" into a "G".

4) The steffans look strange, you are right there. The idea however is a good one and perhaps instead of getting rid of them he could just change them to a nicer looking steffans.

5) Personal preference’s should not be mentioned in the manner that you mentioned them, the news looks fine.

6) Shades of blue seems like really bitchy thing to complain about, you don't want to make a bad impression.

Now here is a good example of how to balance positive and negative feed back. (As I suggested in "constructive" criticism 1)

1) The just trying to help has a really nice thing to add I would try to put more things like that in.

2) Other than that you seemed to have a nice post, this is a general nice thing to add if you are really stuck and having a hard time to find anything good.

If you honestly need to have someone say "you did a good job" on the web to make you feel better, you don't belong here. Constructive criticism doesn't need to be accompanied by compliments, the compliments don't help with the site, they just say it's a good site. J-Dub is doing fine, quit picking on 1/2 for doing what he was asked to do.

I take this time to recommend www.despair.com for any young entrepreneurs looking to increase workforce productivity, or just funny posters.

Thanks guys, You all were a help to the creation of this website. And yes, soon there will be a forum (Hopefully). I'm still in the construction phase, but I'm to the point where if i want to turn back, i will lose a lot of man hours. Keep up the suggestions, and I'll be making the site to fit all of you, rest assured.

Ompa is correct in everything he said, you should never have to say good job or nice post. I didn't say that either, or didn't mean for it to come across that way. I did say or intended to say that if you don't want to make the other guy feel like he wasted hours say nice job at the end, you don't need to but it can make you look like less of a bitch, and from my personal opinion 1/2 could really try not to bitch as much as he dose, but that’s my personal opinion and I'm not forcing anyone to agree with me. I really did not intend to say that you should complement people on there’re posting skill, If you take that the correct it is an insult if the only good thing you can find is the posting skill. (No spelling mistakes, grammar) But please don't argue with the fact that if you’re going to complain about something and say it should be changed; give a suggestion as to what it might be changed to.

Thank you CaMbLaM, but I really did not get offended. I understood that the site needed work and was asking for constructed criticism (which 1/2 responded quite quickly. I thank you for that 1/2). Not that I disagree with you, it is extremely nice to hear that your site looks like it's on its way (especially when you worked on it most of the night!) And ompa, I don't know if that comment was directed towards me, and if it wasn't I am really sorry for the misunderstanding. I dont necesarily need someone to tell me i did a good job, I can be quite self-uprising (funny skill that it is.)

Again I thank you for your comments, but please keep this topic on the website.
