Hey, since NO went down I can't seem to find a write up on stefans as good as they had, I looked on here but couldnt find anything. Does anyone know good site that gives intructions with possible pics/drawings of it? I'm looking for a process that would involve the drill press and such.

-thanks

Arg I can't really find any write-ups right now, so I'll just help you as much as I can.

Materials:
foam backer rod (you can buy this at home depot)
heating iron (radio shack) or you can get a nail and your kitchen stove
bb/fishing weights/pellets/steel shots. (if your a long distance shooter, then get something much heavier than a bb) (walmart)
glue gun and lotsa glue sticks. (wherever)
a testing barrel that will compare the dart sizes.
knife
ruler

Procedures:
Ok first take the long foam backer rod and stretch it out till its fairly straight and not curled up.
Then take one of the ends and stick then into the testing barrel, till the end comes out of the other opening of the barrel, and use the ruler to measure out how long you want the darts to be. (maybe an inch for regular darts or two for loser darts)
Take the knife and cut out the darts.
When your done, put them in the thing that goes over your pillows, (pillow case, I think whats thats called) and put them in the laundry drier for a couple of minutes. you might want to experiment on how long you should do it so your darts don't turn out too big to stuff down your barrel.
Now put little holes in the front of your darts with the heating iron or heat up the nail and use that to poke them so that your bb/whatever can fit in there nicely.
Put them in.
Hot glue on top to secure the bb/whatever on to the dart.
Go outside and shoot somebody with them. Oh yea let'em dry for couple of seconds first.

Tips:
A tip for fast production is to get some people help and then you guys can do a conveyor belt like thing. Get wood blocks and drill holes into them so that you can fit in darts in them. That helps you do alot at a time, you don't have to hold the darts up, and keeps the poking hole and gluing straight. Make sure the bb/whatevers are perfectly on top of the dart, or then there goes your accuracy.

If you are having a hard time finding fishing weights I highly recommend Wal-Mart
I have found every size of weight there and they are not too expensive, the problem with them are the lead and the fumes from FBR always makes you hungry (Illadar and I cut with a hot wire) and it's far from a good idea to eat when your handling lead.

LGLF Stefans
When I got back into Nerf, I found Langley and the Fred's method to be very effective. I followed this almost to a tee. Thanks guys.

EDIT: Oh snap. Illadar beat me to it. ^_^

Here is a writeup on my variant of the stefan. It is supposed not to hurt as much if you shoot someone. Thus the name of Safety Stefan! Ok, you can either make a stefan as usual and as the hot glue is drying, put a small wafer of FBR on it. OR, you could just get the ideal length of the FBR: cut: and make a hole in the back of it so it works in modern Nerf guns. Either way, you get the Safety Stefan! The final thing should look like this using the 2nd method.

Yea, I used the piece of FBR on the tip as well but a few wars down the road I found that the ranges were decreased slightly and that well people didn't always feel it. It was in fact, too safe. So we went back to the old way and wore eye protection. Also the original way helps if you a cheater or newcomer that claims not to have gotten hit, just check for the bruises/welts.
