then open the hose handle to shoot,

Nice. What kind of ranges do you get?

This might be a stupid question, but how do you go about refilling the tank with air once it runs out?

In one "Mythbusters" they used a Fire ext. to launch "chaf", when I saw that, I thought of this, but my mom said I couldnt use the ext.

Dying for the ranges here. If they suck than something must be done about that airtank.

i havent got ranges as of yet because i havent been home for a while to use it, and im only using 30psi because it takes about 100 pumps with a massive T pump, i am also in the process of searching for a small cheap compressor, its tested at 350 psi and it used to be used at 100psi, the lid is threaded and is about 7mm thick! More detail soon about ranges and how i managed the valve on. I am also goin to make it spray water.

pm me if you have any direct questions just so the boards dont get flooded

You can get a very nice portable compressor designed for inflating car's tires for relatively cheap- maybe 30.oo at the most.

I feel I must prevent your death.

The fire extinguisher is tested at 350psi, which is all well and good. What about the hose handle, the brass valve, and the vinyl tubing?

The weakest link in the whole chain is likely the hose handle, which is cheaply made for water plumbing, and likely unrated, though probably designed for a maximum of 100psi.

I suspect, and hope, that something in the system will begin leaking before anything explodes... Imagine your hose handle in shattering, flying into your face at incredibly high speeds. You are not likely to get off easy and merely lose a hand.

On that note, don't go past 100psi. I'd stick around 70, as mentioned, to be safe.

Don't fire extingushers have some chemicals or something in them to put out a fire, because whenever you see someone use one, theres like a big puff of smoke-like stuff that comes out. Does that affect the gun in any way?

Yeah they have flame retardant foam in them. But he would have emptied it first so I don't think there would be a problem.

The extinguisher was empty when i got it, it runs off soda acid which should be held inside by a seperate cartridge suspended in water. The new dry chemical fire extinguishers are corrosive so thats why i have an old one to avoid harmful stuff.:nugget:
The hose handle is made of 2mm thick metal and i intend to use only about 50 maybe 60 psi because it would take too long to pump and it would be more than sufficient.
Im also going to make a longer barrel for it and maybe a bolt.

My god, way to not flip a shit. You guys really would rather stare at a couple old topics? What happens if no one posts for two weeks? Is the forum officially dead because nobody should bump any topics?

You guys are really... Interesting.
