That's a bullshit suspension. Suspend me next. The kid doesn't mean any harm, he's just asking a valid question about why an oversized gun is so heralded in our community when it has one shot, is cumbersome, and is not terribly practical if you're trying to reload it quickly.

Suspend me next. Ban me. Next time anyone asks a harmless question, ban them to. I hope this kid's suspension doesn't become the precedent for future suspensions.

Was this kid warned before his suspension?

That's not really how things work here. NH has always had a steep learning curve and is pretty elitest. He was also insulting people if you read his post history. Actually not only was he insulting people, he was just calling them names. Not only was he ignoring the COC, he was also doing so quite lamely.

Needless to say everything has been going super smooth around here. Not too much off topic, so if losing one guy means that we keep our relative peace, then so be it. It was a good call.

Well, I'm reposting because of my school's piece of shit firewall, here goes...

Anyway. I see two sides to this.

On the one hand, I can see why Cx banned Spider: insulting members in the first day of posting is pretty stupid. And, obviously Cx made relatively decent effort to help him out, because rarely does Cx state so openly that he made a real effort to help someone. However, while NH has a steep learning curve and is elitist, I'm not sure that a psuedo-permanent banning was the greatest call either. I mean seriously, one day? If everyone were banned in their first day for a mistake, bulletin boards wouldn't exist. Granted, it was a foolhardy mistake, but I think a week suspension would have been more fitting.

Just my two cents. Please don't take it personal or "flamingly" if that's a word, but I wanted to put that out there.

I warned him really nicely here to take a break from posting for a couple of days and read the CoC and newb sticky. That was 5 posts into his 15 posts per hour first day on the site. I run The Haven as a refuge from that shit - if you don't like my policies, go hang out on your site.

If you ask me again for a suspension don't think I'll hesitate for even a second.

I'm not here to "cause a problem", I'm here to note the fact that the kid did nothing hurtful with this post and I don't see why he was banned because of this one in particular. The question is legitimate and it seems as though this was an excuse rather than a reason.

Surely you can see now that it has nothing to do with this thread in particular and you can take your ACLU ass elsewhere to fight for the imagined rights of the NH newb?

Interpretation, for those who aspire to imitate Spider...

cxwq OWNS the site. He pays the bills to keep the site running.

What he says, goes. If he says we all have to have pink bunnies as avatars to use the site, that's what we do. But he's not asking for much more beyond this. Is that too much to ask of the users?

If it's too difficult, NHQ is the place to be. Or even Nerf Evolved, though I'm not even a member there. There are no fences holding any of us in here. We're free to leave if we're not satisfied.

To those who thought it unfair to suspend the account of idiots without due process...

I thought it would be equally acceptable to you in noun form, but I
appear to have been mistaken. Would you have preferred I integrate

in your one-hour tenure on NerfHaven?
