Can any one tell he how to mod a SUPPERMAS 3000. Also can any one tell me a good gun that i can mod that dont cost a lot. I have one more question when you mod a gun is all that you doing is making the barrel longer. Thanks B)

Hokai:

-Obviously you take it apart.
-Take the barrel assembly out, make sure you know how everything goes so you can put it back together. It's best if you understand how the thing works, it's easier to put it back together.
-While taking the barrel assembly apart, make sure nothing falls off and gets lost (i.e. springs or something) this didn't happen to me, but it could have.
-Take off the blue cover, snap/saw/break off the barrels, make sure everybit of airrestriction part is taken out, and then glue on new barrels.

-Put the blue cover on the barrels, put the barrel assembly back on the gun.

-If you want you can plug the airrelease valve, but your tank will be more prone to breaking and you'd have to do the bicpen mod to compensate for the extra pressure in the tank.

Hope this helps

Modding airpressure guns: usually barrel replacement, plugging airreleasevalve.
Modding plungerbased nerf guns: usually barrel replacement, plus adding rubberbands. (Buy the Nite Finder, and do that to it)

I don't know if my supermaXX is the same as yours. There were 3 versions of the SM3000

It seems like the mod is taken care of, so I'll answer your questions.
1. A good gun to get is an AirTech 2000. You can get 2 of them at target for around $10. They shoot around 80ft from what I have heard (I haven't modified mine yet). The gun has 4 barrels that you have to manually rotate. This is the gun that most newbs get.

2. No, modification isn't just making the barrel longer. The main part of modification is just taking out/dremeling all the restrictors. After, you usually want to put on a different barrel, so you can have a lower friction barrel that fits your darts better.

PM me if you have any more questions, I would be glad to answer them.

I wonder how hard it would be to integrate the internals of a BBB into a SM3K frame, under the hope of producing an 8 shot BBB?

Okay the sm2k is a good gun. For a pistol get the Nite Finder. Do not even bother with the Maverick if you plan to nerf outside, it sucks. For indoors I've heard it's ok, but all around it is a no. This is because of the numerous air deficiencies and the size of the wimpy little sping they have in there.

Methinks it would be easier if you just took the turret off a SM3K and rigged it to the BBB.

NJNerfer, there is no SM2K. I think you mean the AT2K, which is considered the SM1.5K's "cousin."

I think that sounds damn near impossible. A multi-shot spring gun would be hard to make. I have to admit it would be sweet!

Y'd think that, but the Buzz Bee toy line (Tek-6, Tek-10) are just that. I just get frustrated b/c I want to have the same with the slide underneath the gun, but still with the rotating turret.

Somewhere in the back of my head I have what is proabably a way overly complicated design for a turret that get's a positive air seal on every shot. But unless I get access to a CAD program (and someone who knows how to use it, for that matter) plus some molding equipment, It's probably a little beyond my current fabrication skills.

But thanks for the opinion. Peace.

Ooh not really. You ever heard of the Ratchet Blast? It's simplicity is fecking beautiful. Really, all you have to do is make it so that when the plunger is pulled back, the turret rotates.

I know the Ratchetblast was one, but I was thinking more on the lines of the BBB integration. Yeah, the Ratchetblast had a cool concept, but its performance could be better. I hadn't really taken the Tek 6&10 into account however. Were they really that good? The devil on my right shoulder told me to get one, and the little angel on my left shoulder said to save my money. I went with the angel, but if the Tek 6 or 10 are good, I might just have to reconsider.

I can only speak for the tek-6 but it's a pretty neat little sidearm. Not quite as powerful as the Maverick stock, but set up far better for a barrel mod.

Over at NerfHQ theres this mod, which looks promising.

The tek-10 Looks okay except for the akward position of the slide. There's a promised 2 turret, 12 shot version that I'm salivating over in anticipation.

Peace.

The only problem with the ratchet blast is that if you put a beefier spring in rather than the weak one inside it gets a lot harder to cock.

I have both the Tek 6 and 10, and I like them. They don't have nearly the range of something like a Nite Finder (the darts drop about 10 feet sooner than a shot from the Nite Finder; both the Teks and the NF are unmodded), and once in a while, the darts misfire and fail to leave the barrel, but they're still an awful lot of fun in close quarters.
My Tek 6 is actually an off-brand from Big Lots, but it was made from the same mold and probably works just as well. The only difference between mine and the original is that the cocking mechanism has a hook on it, so it's a lot easier to cock. All you have to do is catch a finger, wrist, or whatever on it, and pull to cock.
The Tek 10 is great in the sense that it holds ten shots, but it's a little bit large and unwieldy. It's pretty heavy in the front, so your natural tendency is to support it below the barrels, but with the cocking mechanism on the back it isn't possible to do so.

I agree about the Tek6 - Tek10 comparison.

The 6 is more comfortable, but the 10 has better range, and obviously has better ROF. I don't know if I'll ever get this done, but I contemplated turning my Tek10 into a rifle (just add a stock and maybe an easier way to cock it ) because you automatically hold it under the barrels anyway.
