I know not too many of you on here are concerened, but I almost threw a fucking fit over here.

Apparantly Anthrax just ditched Rob Caggiano and John Bush and decided to reunite with Joey Belladonna (old lead singer) and Dan Spitz (old lead guitarist). I am really not concerned with Dan Spitz, I always like him. Joey Belladonna over John Bush, however? WHY? WHY? No words can express the torment I am going through over here. I always like Anthrax. I always loved Anthrax. I always thought their older stuff sounded weak. Why? Because Joey Belladonna is a second rate lead vocalist/songwriter. They sound about a million times better with John Bush singing for them, but they had to go and Reuinite with the original lineup... they are even considering a studio album at some point. For fuck's sake why? Scott Ian came out in several interviews and mentioned how he thought the only thing holding Anthrax back (back when they had the original lineup) was Joey Belladonna's vocals. THEY ARE FUCKING WEAK!

Anyway, I'm gonna curl up in my sock drawer and cry for days about the death of one of my favorite heavy metal bands.

Edit: Just thought I should point out that Anthrax announced this sudden change for the worse on the same day the pope died... It's a sign. The end is near.

From what I know, this is only for a summer tour around Europe and including some US dates.

This is not permanent. John Bush wants time with his daughter.

Man, I really do hope that this is just a summer tour. They're thinking about making an album with this lineup. If this is the case, I really hate Anthrax for that. Bush was a step in the right direction and I think this is just setting the clock back on metal for absolutely no reason at all.

Best Anthrax (not quality sound but quality music) comes from the Belladonna era. Even with gay lyrics and second rate vocals.

They aren't really saying if it is just the summer tour or not. They say they are playing it by ear and they haven't really said no to a new studio album with the lineup. It scares me. My guess is that John Bush wants time with his kid and daughter so he didn't mind taking time off, but no one has confirmed that yet. I personally like the rest of the lineup better... by the rest I mostly mean Dan Spitz playing guitar. I like him alot better than Caggiano anyway. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind Caggiano staying in the band for the rest of their days either.

A lot of the better songs were written before Bush, but Bush is definetly the better vocalist. The fact that there music changed so much doesn't really have to do with him so much as other members changing and them jsut wanting to change the type of music they play. Charlie Benate writes a majority of the music anyway, so it's not like Bush really influenced any of that. Bush's lyrics, however, are definetly way better. Basically, Bush is just way better than Belladonna in everyway. The music was just different then.

I also would have to say that some of the best stuff also came from Neil Turbin times as well... Belladonna wasn't around for all the great stuff. I want to see Lilker back in the band, personally, but then I like having Nuclear Assault still kicking around.
