The stock, sight rail, and grip shouldn't be much of a problem, but what you need to focus on is the clip.

I think I'm the opposite. I can create these marvelous ideas which, mathematically and scientifically will work, but can't build them because I don't have the right tools. All I really need is two tools though; A drilling/milling machine and a precision lathe.

Evil, stop calling me out or I'll start talking about the bang up job you're doing over at NHQ. I'm just telling this kid he's gonna need to have more information and general idea of what he's doing before he comes here asking for ideas. Besides, he needs to worry more about getting the gun to shoot straight and getting some field experience before he worries about what his gun looks like.
And I still stand by this. You guys that come on here asking for advice on how to make your Crossbow look like a sherman tank, please, if you really want to carry out such a crazy idea, you're going to have to do it on your own, no one here knows how to do it, nor do I think too many would want to.
Talio.

I hate to do this to ya Talio, but I do know how to make a crossbow into a tank...sorta. It wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the Sherman's small bore cannon. It involves a golf cart/go cart and plywood. I probably would do make it, if I had a crossbow and someone footed the bill for materials needed. Now had you have put Abrams or T-72, I would've not posted. You guys that come on here asking for advice on how to make your Crossbow look like a sherman tank, please, if you really want to carry out such a crazy idea, you're going to have to do it on your own, no one here knows how to do it, nor do I think too many would want to.

I believe that there have formed two schools of thought in the NIC...
Nerf HQ is the place for younger, free-thinking minds...that is, dreamers. Probably never going to make even half of their ideas come into reality. We've seen everything from mines to explosive propulsion systems, to tanks, to gun emplacements, even someting as nuts as "real lightsabers". While a few of those have made it to fruition, most have been left at the drawing board while the free thinker goes on to other such lofty dreams.
That's fine.
Nerfhaven (correct me if I'm wrong, it's just my observation) is for those who want to "get real", and actually begin to throw themselves into their projects. From the time I started brainstorming my AT 2000 "player's rig", until I actually built it, was a short few weeks. Is it done? Never. I'll keep on tweaking and experimenting until it suits my style of Nerfing. At NH, they go beyond just "good intentions", they forge ahead until they have something.
That's fine too.
The problem comes when worlds collide...G. Primevil is saying he can create a Sherman Tank out of a crossbow...if he had the right tools, resources, and perhaps motivation. That is a direct slap in the face to Talio, who is just trying to say in his own way to whatiam, either start going ahead with a project, or wait till he has something tangible (even working drawings) before posting anything on the board.
Look back to the first posts in Modifications....from the "Airtech round table discussion" days. Everyone had been busy tooling around with what they had and were posting real modifications. They didn't post dreams, wishes, or nice thoughts, nor did they say "I can do that if..."
Nowadays, we see more and more "concepts", more "is it possible" questions, without anyone even TRYING to give it a go. So you may ruin a blaster. Bummers, that's the price of experimenting. Take a risk or two. MODIFY something. THEN post about it.
That's why I love Lefty (southpaw over here). He obviously doesn't have any access to exotic milling equipment, nor fancy tools, nor anything beyond household goods. But look at his stuff. It's butt-ugly. It's practical. It's BEAUTIFUL. He thrashes his toys and maxes them out. Just like the old days. Real Nerf workshop stuff.
There's ways to bring about some balance. Just be aware that if you're going to post something at NH, it better be pretty intentional. Just as 8-10 people are hell-bent on duplicating Boltsniper's rifle (I am one of them, I just made the plunger), it'd be in good taste to show the community something beyond good intentions.
Sorry for the ramble. Just wanted to throw that up. I mean on the table.

It was the condescending attitude and tone of your post that I was acknowledging, not your administrative skills.
