So, Lefty's Uzi got me interested in recasing my AT2k.
The problem:
Getting the trigger to release air flow to the gun.
The case:

The original trigger didn't slide, instead up and down on a joint.
So this idea occured to me:

Might work. It just occured to me that ribbon attached to the air release (what I was messing with the pump before casing) attached to the old trigger can do it. If that works, I might go with that. If not, this is my current idea. Think it'll work?

If your just trying to get the trigger to fit, then yes that should work. If that's not what your asking, please explain more.

I dunno, I just have this bad feeling about cutting and re-gluing triggers.

It's probably from the 7-8 SM 1500s (new version) that I repaired, and half of them were broken triggers (the others were leaks). That thin trigger was doomed to break from the get go.

*looks at dissected 2k on desk* See, there's something about the amount of shear force required to pull back that AT2k pin, force that many epoxies (even my favorite, PC-7) would have a hard time maintaining strength. Cutting away the part that rides on the pump tube already removes some strength. The shear force from converting linear motion with both spring resistance and opening the valve just looks like a lot for a glue joint to bear.

If you still insist on taking the chance, I'd probably reinforce the joint with metal strip and epoxy the halves together.

Or how about just asking Lefty? He ought to be able to help you there.

Good luck!

EDIT; I just noticed Lefty's (Southpaw) post in the other thread...you did ask him and his is a linear pull trigger. My bad, my blind. Good luck, duder.
