What Talio said.

One thing I'm wondering is, will these be the last of the N-Strike line, or will it continue into summer 2006? I'd honestly like to see some more guns that take advantage of the whole linking together concept.

I think N strike will be around for a while. Keep in mind that the guys are trying really hard to get back into the days when Nerf had it's own section in the toy store, so you may see multiple lines out at once. If the dart tag thing takes off, it could become a line of itself I figure.

And yeah, Paranormal, or whatever your name is, I'm going to talk to Shinny, but I think you might have just won the 30 year special.

Oh man, that would be so sweet. I can't wait to see what stuff they come up with, and an entire aisle of Nerf from the days of old would so kick ass. I'm getting of tired of walking through discounted Mega Blocks just to get a Nite Finder ;), and more than three guns out at a time is NEVER a bad thing.
One thing I'd really like to see in the future is another N-Strike DVD. It was very simplistic, yet it was pretty fun and good for target practice. Plus, the CG wasn't half bad either. Besides, I need more lines to make fun of. "3-2-1 GO GO GO!!!"

Yeah. Whenever I go into stores to buy Nerf, I usually try to get what I need and get out of there as quickly as possible, so It would be nice to have everything in one place. It would also give Nerf a bit more recognition, which never really hurts.

Hopefully their new lineup will 'raise the bar' in the competition between Hasbro and BuzzBee. Its always good to see designers pushing the envelope for whole new products instead of just rehashing the same basic designs with new casings.

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for kiddies......

Posted Image
The orange thing on top is the cocking mechanism like the Maverick. There are ammo holders on both sides. The switch turns the light on and off. A light flashes to activate glow in the dark darts each time the trigger is pulled.

Posted Image
This is what you get in the Dart Tag set for 40 bucks. Those vests would never fit us, but the glasses fit on my fat face.

Tell me the firefly isn't the coolest thing you've ever seen. Btw, these are shots of painted models, not what they will look like EXACTLY at market.

Agreed. As Hegel once said, "thesis vs. antithesis = synthesis". Basically, competition will bring us bigger, better, and more numerous guns. Personally, I'd love to see the Nerf team work on some shell action guns, like BuzzBee's rifle and shotgun.

Damn, that is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.
Thanks to both of you for doing this, and thanks for hasbro for still kicking ass.
If buzzbee was said to be competition... well, the pic says it all.

Hah, those vests may never fit you, but I happen to have the scrawny torso of a ten year old boy. I'm gonna sport those muthas 24/7.

Wow, finally a pic of the firefly. I am seriously excited. Do I really have to wait until fall? They clearly already have one, how hard is it to produce another million or so?

But more importantly, why doesn't it connect? I think it would've made an awesome hornet replacement. Imagine, a titan (or if they ever replace it with something else sweet) with a modded mav on the side and a firefly on the bottom strapped to your back with two NFs in holsters? Overkill?

Awesome.
Another weapon I can add to the 'Rifle' class in my game. Cant wait to see those glow darts in action, which will totaly rock for night games.
I wonder if the flashing light mechanism would be able to be modded into guns that are on the shelves right now. I guess we will have to wait and see.

The Firefly looks amazing. The whole thing looks awesome, and just the stock has me bought. AND it looks like my favorite gun, the P90. Simply beautiful. I'm buying 12 of those.
No comment on the Dart Tag blasters right now, I'm too busy salivating about the Firefly.
Oh, um, one question, which part cocks the Firefly?

Edit: Oops! Missed the part that answered that question.

It wouldn't work as a hornet replacement because there would be no way to cock it, but I'll sacrifice the fact that it won't work on the n-strike system just to have one.

I like how the firefly is bulpump style that's really a hot little number there. Is it me or do the barrels look kinda short on it?

OMC, do you know if Hasbro will be putting out replacement packs of glow-in-the-dark darts? Or maybe someone can analyze the darts once they come out and find a way to make some kind of similar glow-in-the-dark stefans to use instead, that'd be cool.

yes there will be refills for both dart tag and firefly. Don't think it will be completely possible to mimick either dart.

Thats good.
It does seem like Hasbro is coming down on the price of stock darts. When I bought my first NiteFinders, Im pretty sure you could only buy packs of 10 for $5, but now they give you the option of buying 30 for $10. Still not as cheap as stefans, but they are coming down. Hopefully the new darts will follow that trend as well.

honestly I think it looks quite ugly, but if its a multiple shot high ROF good ranged weapon, then I'll sure purchase one.

Everyone on NHQ is addicted to P90s, so they got their wish. I am not anxious to get excited over either of the guns, because of the bust that the Mav was.

Firefly:
Is that an adjustable back?
Firing mechanism?
(assuming you've fired it)Good out of the box?

Other guns:
Is it auto, like a mini RF20?
(assuming you've fired it)Good out of the box?

DaViS

Edit: Firefly: Oh, and how is the proportion? (small picture) Does it feel like a rifle in your hand?

Firefly is NOT adjustable. It's spring powered just like the NF. Yes we've fired them quite a bit, and it's pretty good out of the box. The firefly fits perfecftly in my hand from my fingers to my elbow.

Sorry for the small picture but the dart tag blasters are cocked on top with the black part similar to the maverick too. They are semi auto auto-rotating. I would put them in size somewhere around a PowerClip or RF20. The pictures are deceiving.

Ok, I really liked the dart tag guns. They're not really huge, but spring powered auto rotaters are nice. I think the Firefly will be better as a single shot gun. It has a little piece that holds the turret in that will prevent longer barrels. However the dart tag guns are probably better for multibarrel anyway, and I think the way the back is shaped, we can fit a larger pvc coupling to it for a stock fairly easily. What I saw were two awesome new springers. One for single barreled, one for multibarreled. Really can't go wrong, and both using the maverick rotating system is super cool.

Eh, I'd just go with tighter barrels in the firefly, although shorter. You may lose some accuracy, but you still get the multishot. At least that's what I'm going to end up doing.
