I am pondering creating a site to to present all of my homemades. Then I got to thinking why not create a site to discuss Nerf homemades in general.

Anyone think its worth it? Would it get enough traffic to make it worthwhile? What about a forum? There are a lot out there already......

It sounds like an excellent idea to me, but I don't know either how much traffic it would get. I know I'd sure go there! Most Nerfers, even if they don't build their own homemades, are interested in homemades. Sounds like a good idea.

Well, both forums and websites are free nowadays to some extent....I'd do it! Oh wait, i already have. (set up a website nerf related, not homemades)

It may seem too specialized, but as long as the "king" of homemades is in charge of it, I think it would get a great deal of traffic and be much more of a forum where actual advances are made.

Bolt, even though NH and NHQ already have homemade sections, I would welcome a dedicated site. OpenNerf didn't last long, but it still gave me many ideas, some of which I am still working on. I had hoped that site would last, so maybe this is a good alternative.

This idea is getting more positive feedback than I expected. This was the idea I had in mind:

A site to:
- Present and explain my personal homemades
- Give an explanation of my method for designing/building homemades
- Give some How-to's for certain components (ir pistol grip, shells, etc.)
- Give a How-to for a complete simple gun.
- Give new ideas for homemade design

If I were to do this I would register a domain for it (like www.nerfhomemades.com). The only issue I have is that I don`t know if I wil have the time to give the site the attention it needs and update it on a regular basis.

I do plan to at least put up a site for my latest rifle. Similar to the site I made for the CO2 rifle but a little more in depth.

opennerf was very succussful until it closed down, we had a ton of fruitful discussions.

I like the idea. Open::nerf was a good idea, but didn't last long and didn't have enough substance. The dreamers outnumbered the doers.

Since homemades are pretty much your specialty, with your administration/ moderation, we can see more stuff being built and less pictures made in MS Paint/ Corel Draw/ Visio/ etc.

Count me in for pneumatics and large PVC shooters. Plus I'd like to steal Talio's idea of adopting your latest creation to make a single shot bolt action springer.

Pinney, feel free to hop online tonight, I've actually made some progress already. It's slow moving due to work and such. I'll be semi slowed down because of the new Lanard gun, but I'd be more then willing to work with you on it.

I'm all for it. Right now I'm into modding, but it's still fun to see what brilliant minds will come up with for homemades, and who knows, when I have the tools for it maybe I'll get bored of modding and actually build something original.

Im all in for it. Just one question, will there be different forum topics or just one general one? (i.e. nerfhaven haveing forums for homemades, modifications, trading etc.)

Bolt, you could appoint moderators and admins if you need someone to help run the site.

I think you should go for it. If you give tutorials for simple guns, it will get more people into making homemades, which is definately the only way we can keep nerf alive once hasbro and lanard stop making guns.
