Are tack stefans better than regular stefans? They seem are easier to make and more accurate because all of the tops are the same, but do they have the same range as regular stefans? Do any of you use them? What is your opinion about tack stefans?

Tack stefans are when you take your piece of fbr and put glue on the top then stick a tack in.(the sharp part of the tack goes in the dart)

When I see someone post in caps-lock, I naturally associate them with a screamin 5 year old with 5 missing teeth, runing in circles and screaming till they get dizzy and run into the pedastal holding a pricelesss vase.

When I see someone post with no caps and no punctuation, I think of a 5 year old with 5 teeth with a speech impediment who wont stop talking to you about his action figures and hot wheels.

Tack darts arent safe, because they have exposed metal. You find a war hat allows those.

Lol. Sorry Thirst didn't notice my caps was on. I was playin a massive multiplayer and one of the settings is caps so I run all the time like he said listen to him unless you want to use tack stefans to shoot yourself in the head. And feel pain and see blood.

But he said that he sharp part goes inside the dart. So it wouldn't have exposed metal. Still, I agree with you. They should only be used for target practice, if anything. What if the tack fell out? :( *Cringe*

No, I mean stick the tack in the foam. You get hit with the top dome part of the tack, the flat part. What I'm taking about is in the homemade design section of nerfevolved.com

Your supposed to hot glue the tack in.

Its alright Street; I thought you were doing on purpose like people who color their posts...

If metal is exposed on the front of the dart, its dangerous. There is metal exposed on the tip of the dart. Therefore the dart is dangerous.

Its not much different than having hot glue on the tip of the dart. You could always cut a 1/4 in. of foam and glue it on the top. Whats wrong with exposed metal?

I shot my brother with a dart that had exposed metal about 3 years ago, and half of his front tooth was chipped. I shot him with an unmodded(except for air restrictors) powerclip from 20 feet away. if you think its perfectly safe then you need to set your priorities straight. metal is much different than hotglue. I suggest if you do it, put foam at the tip to cover up the metal.

Rusty metal+high velocity+skin=DAMN-IT! THAT HURT! That's what's wrong with exposed metal. I would be worried about the tack falling out of the dart. I have, after all, blown BBs and hot glue domes off of my Stefans.

I'm pretty sure it is seeing as the topic title isn't in caps, but the rest is.

Back on topic, I tried using tack darts once, but not only is it not heavy enough, but it's not like it's more accurate or anything because you still have to poke the hole in the right spot and cover it neatly with hot glue.

You mean like this? I tried it once, but the thumbtacks I got weren't heavy enough. Also, it seemed unsafe. The hot glue didn't melt the plastic coating into the FBR like the dude said it would. Maybe it was my thumbtacks? I don't know.
