This mod is for the Supermaxx 500 or Small Soldiers 500

you need:
10 in. of pvc
1/2 in. pvc connector
crayola marker
hot glue gun
duct tape
hack saw


You don't need to open the gun up to do this mod.(unless you want to take the scope off the small soldiers 500, you have to open it because its glued on one side)

Its very simple if your looking at the gun . Take the gun a cut the barrel right before the case. Cut a three inch piece of pvc. Wrap duct tape around it and glue it in the cut down original barrel. Get your crayola barrel and glue it in the pvc. Then shove your pvc connector over the pvc.Then cut a 6-8 inch pvc barrel. To plug the pump, pump once and when you pull the pump out give it a tug and after doing this a few times it will come out. Fill the air release valve with glue and super glue the cap back on. Now you just need to put a dart in, put the barrel on and pump 2 times. Do Not Pump More Than 2 Times or you will blow the tank. The gun should have amazing range and velocity now.
I did this mod a long time ago but one day I pumped it and the air came out the front of the valve and wouldn't hold pressure. But I heard about spraying WD40 on the valve and now it works again. The gun should be getting about 100 ft flat beacause it hits the wall harder than my AirTech2000. I don't have an exact range because its snowing outside right now. Enjoy your modified SM 500

You mean SM 5000, don't you? I'm pretty sure the Small Soldiers was the 5000.

nope, both were released in small soldiers. The sm5k and the sm500. I'll snap pics of both when I get a chance.
Those are good results for pvc, I know it's a real beast with brass.

The Small Soldiers 500 is the orange pistol and the Small Soldiers 5000 is the green rifle. The 500 is very powerful. When you fire it sounds like 6 nitefinders going off at the same time.(its a loud pop) I will try to get pictures of them.

I just went outside and range tested.Here are the ranges of 5 shots and an average.

All stockdarts were fired flat and measured with a 100' tape measure with two pumps.
95'
93'
88' (blew the dart up)
97'
95'

average of 93.6'
(the third shot is lower because the gun blew a crack all the way down the side of the dart)

I would recommend wraping your darts in tape.

My bad, sorry typing mistake. I use stock darts because I have over 100 of them and all of my guns are crayola and pvc modified.

Well...yeah this thing is powerful but I really don't see how you can achieve 90" with craoylas and pvc.

With my PVC/Crayola modded SM5000, I got around 110'. They are basically the same gun, except the SM500 is smaller. I bought one off ebay, and never recieved it I was gonna buy the SM1000, but it was the same person, so I was just like, screw it. Sorry off topic.

I'm getting more like 90feet.This gun is very powerful. When you fire it makes a huge pop I am getting 90' flat with my pvc crossbow,85' flat wait an Airtech 2000 so these are reasonable ranges. Does any one else have a Supermaxx 500 or Small Soldiers 500? Can you measure how far your gun shoots to prove my ranges.

Me, but mine goes 60'. On a good day. No matter how I try to mod it, the thing seems dead set against me. I think some people just have better luck than others- but I believe your ranges, and I suggest others do too, especially if he's using sonics.

Ompa,Do you have the supermaxx 500 or the smallsoldiers 500? Did you plug the pump? How many pumps are you using? What kind of darts/barrel are you using? My ranges were with airjet micros and regular micros not whistlers.

Small soldiers 500. I use stefans. I've used almost every barrel combo I can think of using brass and SCH80 1/2" pvc I could think of beneath the length of 10 inches. Still no luck. Whenever I pull the trigger, the air diffuses into the barrel, but also back into the chamber. Whatever, I'll figure it out later, as of now I'm reinforcing my crossbow and working on that damned Maverick/NF integration that I've promised to do a writeup for.

I have three suggestions for you to try Ompa.

1.Make sure your barrel doesn't have any leaks in it.
2.Try putting a small o ring over the valve pin on the back.
3. Try a nested barrel,2 inch of 17/32 in 8 inch of 9/16

I'm thinking of painting mine because if your in the woods you don't want to be running around with a bright orange gun.

I hope this isn't it, but is there any chance you have a check valve problem? I know it would suck royally, I can't tell because I don't own it, and i'm just shooting ideas.
Also, did you plug the over pressure release?

I'll try to measure my sm500's range as soon as the paintjob is done.

Just for reference, I'm using 7" of 9/16".

I meant to glue it around the valve pin on the back of the tank because it may be leaking out the back.
