Hey,

I have been doing a couple of mods, all of them being cock guns. I PVC'd all of them, and came across the point where a spring replacement is needed, especially nescesarry for my EaB. However...
WHERE CAN YOU GET SPRINGS?

I have looked in everystore I can think of, and I don't have enough guns really to to take a spring out.
Thanks

What size is the EaB's spring? I've got one or two spare springs, from guns like the Tech Target and the NF. I have no idea if I could get them to you, or if they are the right size, but that's all I can think of. I will search Google.

...cock guns...

I'd call them spring guns.

OSH has the perfect replacement spring for the EaB. You have to cut it in half so look for something twice as long as you'd expect.

I can vouch for what C said. Vassili modded his EaB with a spring from OSH and it worked beautifully.

If you want to cut springs, I would suggest un-tempering them to get the tempering out. Just heat it untill they turn red and then just bend them back and forth untill it breaks. I tried everything to cut a spring but nothing worked. Man those things are @#$%&*! hard!!!

That will reduce the life of the spring. Use aviation snips. Easy peasy.

Orchard Supply and Hardware. It is a hardware store. If you haven't heard of one, you probably don't have one near you.

Don't worry about the things you don't know. Do sheep expand in the rain? Who discovered how to get milk from cows? And what was he doing in the first place?

or, you can use bolt cutters, even easier.

Also, I found good replacement springs at my local home depot.

and some proably-way-to-powerul springs at my local "Tractor Supply" store.

Yeah, a C-882 Century spring cut in half is the perfect fit for an EaB. You should be able to find one at your local hardware store, even Lech could find one in Australia.

I highly reccomend bolt cutters or aviation snips. The first time I cut a spring, the only thing I could find was a jigsaw. It wasn't pretty, but an hour later I finally had two pieces.

Wow... My needlenose pliers have a little cutter part in them, and taht seems to work fine for me to cut springs. Either that or using the pliers to bend/twist teh spring until it breaks. I've never even thought of getting special spring-cutting tools.

well, the tools we're talking about are for heavier-duty springs than you can easily cut with pliers. (perhaps 12-guage)

one thing I found with cut springs is that they wear away at the internal plastic of your gun because of the now-sticking-out, cut end.

what ever happened to bungies?
